Two questions

1- What did you base the order on?

2- As a Bills fan I’m curious as to why you have them picking a guard. Derrick Dockery isn’t going anywhere, and Brad Butler is turning into a pretty solid OG. Honestly the weakest link on the Bills O-Line is center. So why a guard?

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Order

The order is taken from our early thoughts on how the season will shake out.

Duke Robinson is the best guard prospect to come out of college in the 10 years I’ve been doing this. He’d be an immediate impact over Butler, and potentially even Dockery.

Duke Robinson

If he’s as good as you say, I would gladly take him, but if he’s that good, how does he drop that far?
Is this draft as deep as the last one?

6th? And a CB?!

I know people don’t like my Broncos and all, but you really think the 2008-09 team will be worse than this one? And, even if we somehow are, why would we look for a corner; aren’t we set there with veteran starters Champ Bailey and Dre Bly, as well as capable back-ups Karl Paymah and Dominique Foxworth?

I know this doesn’t count for much since I’m an unabashed Broncos fan, but I’d gladly take a bet on the Broncos draft position being outside of the top ten!

Where to start?

Forget my Bears being worse, man this draft order sounds crazy:
1. Philadelphia Eagles (from Carolina Panthers) – Rey Maualuga, ILB, Southern California
2. Kansas City Chiefs – Victor Harris, CB, Virginia Tech
3. San Francisco 49ers – Brian Cushing, OLB, Southern California
4. Miami Dolphins – Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
5. Atlanta Falcons – DeMarcus Granger, DT, Oklahoma

6. Denver Broncos – Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State
7. Cincinnati Bengals – Taylor Mays, SS, Southern California
8. Chicago Bears – Curtis Painter, QB, Purdue
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Marlon Lucky, RB, Nebraska
10. Tennessee Titans – Fili Moala, DT, Southern California
11. Oakland Raiders – Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
12. Philadelphia Eagles – George Selvie, DE, South Florida

13. Pittsburgh Steelers – Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
14. Cleveland Browns – James Davis, RB, Clemson
15. New York Giants – James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio State
16. Green Bay Packers – Mike Mickens, CB, Cincinnati
17. Buffalo Bills – Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma
18. Jacksonville Jaguars – Joe Burnett, CB, Central Florida
19. Seattle Seahawks – Sen’Derrick Marks, DT, Auburn

20. Arizona Cardinals – Maurice Evans, DE, Penn State
21. Detroit Lions – Patrick Chung, SS, Oregon
22. New England Patriots – Al Woods, DT, Louisiana State

23. Houston Texans – Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland
24. New Orleans Saints – Chase Coffman, TE, Missouri
25. Minnesota Vikings – Cullen Harper, QB, Clemson
26. New York Jets – William Moore, FS, Missouri
27. Baltimore Ravens – Alex Mack, C, California
28. St. Louis Rams – Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
29. San Diego Chargers – Alex Boone, OT, Ohio State
30. Washington Redskins – Jeremy Perry, G, Oregon
31. Indianapolis Colts – Trey Covington, DE, Maryland
32. Dallas Cowboys – Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri

I would love to see the rational and the projected records for each of these teams. That would be an entertaining read.

Sure

In terms of needs or the players?

he means the players

heck, I’m a Ravens fan, and I was pretty shocked to see us rated so well. You really think we’re the best bet to win the AFC North?

by math_geek on May 13, 2008 11:32 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

wait, no he means the teams

i have no idea why i said players

I'd also like to ask you

why Tyson Jackson was left off the draft list. He’s rated as your number 12 prospect, and DE’s with the skill set to rush the passer from the 3-4 DL spot are really hard to find. My Ravens really missed Trevor Pryce last year, I’d think they’d pounce on a guy like Tyson if he were available to them.

Where they will finish.

I don’t see the Rams, Ravens, Texans, Cards and Redskins, making that kind of jump. For the playoffs you have Detroit, Minnesota, Washington, Dallas, Arizona, and St. Louis in the NFC.

Tyson

Probably a pre-season miscue. He should be on there.

I’ll wait for #23 on the others.

Several

There are several players on here I don’t see going in the first round next year:

Lucky
Burnett
Evans
Chung
Monroe

btw, just posted my 09 mock draft. check it out and let me know what you think.

by BlueVol03 on May 14, 2008 9:31 AM EDT   0 recs

my bad

I do think Monroe goes in the 1st…

by BlueVol03 on May 14, 2008 9:50 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Arizona Cardinals – Maurice Evans, DE, Penn State

Is he a projected 3-4 OLB? If not it doesn’t make much sense considering they just drafted 2 DE’s and Dockett is under contract until 2010 or 2011.
