SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
         FANTASY DEPTH CHART

Key:

PTR= Position Tier Rank. This is the tier level where the player should be slotted in drafts.

1 = Elite Player.

2 = Solid Performer

3 = Backend starter/Bench fill-in

4 = Roster filler or long-term prospect

0 = No value

ITR = In The Rotation

PB = Position Battle

S = Starter

QB                               PTR
Philip Rivers - S               2
Billy Volek                       4

Charlie Whitehurst            0

Summary:  Rivers is coming off surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, but will be ready to start the season.  His 21 TD passes are solid, but this offense still revolves around LT.  He is capable of improving in both TDs and yardage, but is main priority is to cut down on his 15 INTs.  He will be a solid #2 fantasy QB.  Volek is a capable backup if Rivers goes down.

RB                                   PTR
LaDainian Tomlinson - S     1
Jacob Hester                       4
Darren Sproles                    4
Summary:  Tomlinson is still the top fantasy offensive weapon, despite a decrease in his stats.  There is no reason to expect any dropoff from him, as he still is in his prime.  While some fantasy owners may make the bold move of passing on him with the first pick, that will only leave a gift waiting for the next person.  Expect another season of 15-20 total TDs and close to 2,000 total yards.  Hester was drafted to cover the loss of Michael Turner and Sproles is a speedy threat when needed.
