Now can everyone see how much of a joke Eli is
He never deserved that MVP trophy. It should have gone to Justin Tuck. But just because his last name is Manning and David Tyree made a great catch on a badly overthrown ball he got it.

What week is it?
It’s the first week of the season. No one said Eli was a world-beater. Did you post this on the right site?

I thought Eli looked pretty good in the game.
Even the interception was under clear pressure (even if it was an ugly pass)
And the Giants didn’t punt in the entire first HALF

Lets play judge a QB by one game
well, you’re a Cowboys fan so I’ll just Romo.
What game will I pick? hmmmm

So many choices
but I think the game against Buffalo last year might be the most entertaining.

Meh.
I don’t get why people feel as though he turned a corner in the postseason last year. He’s been consistently mediocre and I agree that his last name has helped him get every opportunity. That said, I don’t think anyone here has made the case for Eli.

I agree there's no point in looking at just one game
But, if you look at Manning’s entire career, it’s a wonder that he doesn’t get more criticism. Consider this:
Tim Couch was only in the league for 5 seasons (Eli’s entering his fifth) and Couch had a better completion %, yards per pass attempt and QB rating. And if you consider the quality of the team around him, that’s downright embarrassing. Couch is universally thought of as a bust, but how should we view Eli?

Great points!
I am just surprised that quincy felt the need to post this here, where if anything I have ranked Manning pretty low.

Ah
Okay, sorry, I guess I tuned out on that one. I’ve never been a big fan of Manning.

Go figure! I still think he is bad. So much talent and still bad numbers.
And does that game even count. The Rams? Do they even put a defense on the field anymore because they 40 points in back to back weeks. I’m not sure that game counts for much.
Kick it to me... I'm open!

After 3 weeks
65 for 107 (60.7%) 765 yards (7.15 YPA), 4 TD, 1 INT
such a joke.

Dig Deeper...
He only went 45/78 (57.7%) for 505 (6.47 YPA) yards with 1 TD and 1 INT in home games against Washington and Cincy, neither of which I’d consider particularly good defenses; he did light up St. Louis on the road and you can’t just ignore that, but the Rams are allowing opponents to rack up a 123.6 QB rating so far this season, so you can take that game with a boulder of salt. Bottom line is this: Eli posted a QB rating of around 73 through his first 57 games and there is insufficient evidence to demonstrate that he’s much better than that still. He has the right last name and had a hot hand in the playoffs last year, but he’s not anything more than an average NFL QB. Would you want him at the helm of your team?

I totally agree
he’s exceptionally mediocre and I don’t find mediocre funny so I don’t believe Eli is a joke.
