How to Fix the Dallas Cowboys
Get a new coach...
Seriously though, there is no individual player that stands out to me as someone we need to replace as soon as possible. Overall our players just need to play more disciplined football. However, there are depth improvements that could be made...
Round 1: Draft a D-linmen
This really depends on what happens with Marcus Spears whose contract is up after this season. He is good against the run, but inconsistent against the pass. One option would be to draft Terrence Cody to play NT and move Ratliff to end. They could aslo go the DE route and draft Corey Wootton out of Northwestern or the big athletic Vince Oghobaase out of Duke, who could earn a first round grade if he looks good in his off season work outs.
Note: LT tackle is a possiblity here if the coaches don't think Doug Free could be Flo Adams' successor. I'm going to operate under the assumption he is.
Round 2: Draft a speed reciever who can return punts as well.
Is Miles Austin the answer? Who knows, but you can't have too much speed, and we need a punt returner. Jacoby Ford out of Clemson is one of the fastest players in the draft, and Jordan Shipley would be a good option as well. Both of these prospects are great punt returners, the latter taking two to the house this season.
Round 3: Get a backup center (a.k.a getting rid of Corey Procter)
Every time Gurode looks like he is hurt a collective gasp sweeps across Cowboys nation. That is because Proctologist, who can be easily overpowered, has shown last year he is incapable of starting on a consistent basis. To replace him J.D. Walton out of Baylor seems like a good option, although he may end up being a second rounder so the Cowboys may have to trade up to get him. Another option here is Ted Larsen out of NC state. Both of these players could play guard so there won't be a need to keep on overpaying for Montrae Holland.
Round 4: Get a Tackle
Whether or not Free can eventually be Flo's successor is up for debate. What is not is that McQuistan will never be able to be a starting tackle in this league. Adam Ulatoski of Texas should be available here. Kyle Calloway out of Iowa is another good prospect who may be more of a third round prospect. If we wanted to go the Calloway route one could take Larsen here and Calloway in the third.
Final Note: I don't expect us to use all 7 picks this year, as there should be 11 drafted rookies from this year showing up to training camp in 2010, including UDFA Kevin Ogletree who made the 53 man roster this year. We may draft another CB in the later rounds, but beyond that we'll use the rest of our picks for trades.

Hmmm...
Maybe you could trade Romo for two first round picks, a third and some scrub QB with a noodle arm…
Seriously though, I think that Dallas is on its way to being the next Oakland so long as Jones defines the organization. If he gets someone like Shanahan and turns over control to him, maybe they can squeeze some success out of their current roster.

Well considering that dallas has the number 1 offense in the league
one would have to think we have some talent

#1 by yardage
they aren’t turning that into points very well (11th in scoring O) which is an obvious issue.

Sounds Familiar...
My Broncos were 2nd in yards but only 16th in scoring… games are won with points, but people keep track of yards as though it were fantasy…

Jerry Jones retiring is
the first step towards rebuilding the Cowboys. The same goes for Washington and Okland. It won’t happen

The inconsistent sinking ship that they are!

Why would you want them to change? Who will everyone make fun of now?

Good stuff
Something about Jordan Shipley playing for the Cowboys just seems really awesome.
