Give Cowboys J.D. Walton and I would be very happy with that draft
we honestly don’t need an ILB
by quincyyyyy on Nov 2, 2009 5:45 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
besides if we were to go ILB in the first day, which I think there is like a 15% chance of that happening
it would be of the 250 lb variety who can play strong side.
Anyhow, we just drafted Jason Williams and Stephen Hodge, and Brooking has a couple of good years left in the tank.

nice
We are kind of thin behind Gurode at center, so J.D. Walton would be a good pick and someone we could develop for the future.

i thought
that the linebackers you drafted last year were just some rotational pass rushers…but guess that was wrong. So I’ll give ya Walton
by birds'n'raiders on Nov 2, 2009 5:58 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
we did draft two rotational rushers
Victor Butler and Brandon Williams, but we drafted ILBs also. We used our first pick at the top of the 3rd round on Jason Williams who played OLB in college but was moved inside. Then we drafted Hodge in the 6th who played SS in college but was moved to ILB. Both Hodge and Brandon Williams were put in IR because of injuries, but looked good in training camp.

Everyone looks good in training camp

not necessarily so, but I get your drift
point is they’ll likely be on the 53 man roster next year as rosters are largely determined by training camp, which was my point.

The Jets’ third rounder belongs to the Browns
by TheRealSlimShady on Nov 2, 2009 6:07 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
First
Why would the Viking sign Norwood when they still have Taylor? how about a retired list as well? Jamal lewis is going to retire after this season, same for Ricky Williams.
And Sharper may retire after this year especially if the Saints win it all. If he doesn’t retire why would the Saints let him go?
Now the Draft
I don’t see the Steelers drafting Black our O-line is fine. With who is available I could see us drafting Hardy. But I like the other two picks.
The Pack needs O-line. Rodgers has been sacked 31 times ( I think)
by Steel in FL on Nov 2, 2009 6:19 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
oh ya
I should add a retired/unsigned vets list…
I think Chester Taylor is gonna go somewhere else in free agency, in hope of more carries.
Ricky is gonna play till 2011, and then get his Doctorate. I’m serious…that’s what the man said.
I thought about giving the Steelers Hardy, and I still am…As for the Pack, they just miss out on the guys in this draft. They will probaby sign a free agent or two, but there is only so much I can predict.
by birds'n'raiders on Nov 2, 2009 6:27 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I knew Williams is going to retire but I didn't really know when, thought it was this year
Yeah I realized that there wasn’t anybody good where they pick. However with O-line drafting in recent years there have been a lot of reaches so they could reaches.
by Steel in FL on Nov 2, 2009 7:13 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
for example...
I have no idea if the Buccaneers will be able to retain their two good young tackles Donald Penn and Jeremy Trueblood. If they don’t then someone will sign them, and the Bucs have to consider drafting an OT…

yea i dont think..
Julius will go to OAK and Shawn Merriam will go to CLE

That Would be awesome
To see. I would love for two Auburn guys to be on the same team together in the NFL.

What happened to those two Auburn players that last name was Irons?

Kenny Irons
He was the great back that came after Cadillac and Ronnie. He had a little over 900 yards his final season at Auburn. He was drafted by the Bengals in I believe the second round. He tore his ACL pretty bad in a preseason game as a rookie. Never fully recovered, got cut; he’s now a free agent, has been for quite some time.

I do believe that Brandon Jacobs was third string behind Williams and Brown so he transferred to Souther Illinois.

And he played community college ball before he even came to Auburn. Not sure where though.

not sure about the 2 LBs picked
the reason I like Witherspoon is that it seems like he might be able to handle to middle in a smaller D (like the Colts Tampa-2) from the little of gathered on him. The Colts haven’t invested early picks in OLBs since the switch to the T-2 and because that scheme is unpopular and trending to be even moreso they can bring their OLBs back for cheap in free agency.
I don’t see an OLB to the Colts in the first two rounds. I could see a MLB since they’ve shown more commitment to that spot by actually paying an LB in Gary Brackett to play the middle (but now he’s about to turn 30 and hit free agency again).
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

tons of work.....so awesome job
- I’d love for the Cards to get into the free agent market but history says they’ll shy away from a big signing. I’d also add that some of those free agents you have listed (namely LenDale White) won’t be free agents next year b/c of the absence of a CBA. Players won’t be UFA’s until after their sixth season instead of their fourth.
- As for the Cardinals…..Love the first two rounds. Best OLB in the draft and a ILB that’s capable of starting from day one.
- Good job.
Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

I really appreciate the creativity...
Its tough to think that far ahead, make all those decisions, and then try to meet teams’ needs afterwards (while of course letting others read your work). Definitely a job well done.

Lovin' Dan Williams to Da 'Burgh in round 3.
But no FA acquisitions for the Steelers at all? I know they don’t bring in major players via FA, but they’re would be some.

I know
But I think there could be one or two of note. I could be wrong, but they could bring in a vet CB like Hobbs, just as one example.
