Ndamukong Suh continues to assert awesomeness
Another game for Nebraska, another dominant performance for defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Suh consistently helped collapse Oklahoma's offensive line, forcing quarterback Landry Jones into several bad passes. On the day, Jones threw five interceptions, many of them due to pressure caused by Suh.
Even against double teams Suh made plays. In the second quarter of Nebraska's 10-3 win Suh blocked another field goal. Later he dropped into coverage and broke up a screen pass.
On the season, Suh now has 53 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hurries, eight pass breakups, five sacks, three blocked kicks, a forced fumble and an interception. Quite the mouthful.
Right now Suh is firmly entrenched as the No. 1 NFL Draft prospect in the nation. It's now beginning to appear that he's above and beyond every other player.

Season ending seperated shoulder and a few broken ribs do tend to handicap a QB's chances ;)

I knew he got knocked the F out after than INT
but DAMN!
But even so…I doubt he was Heisman anyway. They’d probably invite Tebow over him regardless…

Well he reportedly had the broken ribs before the game, but played anyway
However, he basically tore all the important muscles in his shoulder trying to make that tackle

Ponder was never going to win Heisman this year.
Out anyways for rest of the year with separated shoulder. Next year he is a serious threat to win it.

3 of the 5 picks
Can be considered directly caused by Suh. This was only the second time I’ve been able to watch him through a full game, man I’m impressed.

absent.
as usual.
really, whoever gets Arthur Jones is getting the second best DT in the draft…and that’s really a slight to Jones (cuz SUUUUUUU!! is a beast!)

Please tell me where Jones is better than McCoy as a prospect.

Agreed
McCoy has been great this year.

Oklahoma held Nebraska to what ...less than 200 yards?
McCoy must have been doing something. They show him with three tackles in the game.

Mccoy had a good game against Texas i believe
He was the Defensive Line.

nah...
actually, the other 3 guys he plays with are NFL caliber too. He’s never THE D-line.
He’s a great athlete and may be a star.
I just don’t think he’s that far above Jones as a prospect just cuz of his athleticism.

strength, size
and that he doesn’t disappear for games…that’s what.
Tho, the injury probably makes it moot.
McCoy is potentially better. Has better athleticism too. Other than that..nothing makes McCoy better.
take away that injury to Jones, and Jones is more of a finished product who is basically playing by himself on his defense, while McCoy has 3 other very good, possibly NFL caliber players along side of him and as LB’s.
Jones is listed as teh same size as McCoy, but he’s closer to 310.
Its also probably a apples and oranges thing. McCoy seems more like a pass rusher from teh DT spot, while Jones a run stopper. Its what do you want from your DT.

If Jones is a more finished prospect it is because he is 24 and McCoy is a junior.
And I don’t see how you say McCoy disappears, it seems like the opposite to me.

also..
why don’t you tell me why McCoy is so good?
If all you can muster is a 4.8 40…….or that ‘other mocks have him higher’….well…that’s great.

When you watch game tape, he penetrates into the backfield on almost every play.
by TheRealSlimShady on Nov 11, 2009 5:18 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
you watch Game tape?
I know I saw at least 4 game of OU this year.
He makes plays, yea. But he’s also got an incredible D-Line around him and 3 very good LB’s too, Travis Lewis being a potential top 20 pick and more than a few other NFL starters.
He definitely benefits playing on a line better than everyone else.
Plus…I don’t see him as good as Tommie Harris. He was a monster.

No concerns about his size (i.e., weight)?
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

The heaviest I've seen him listed is at 300 pounds.
Just seems a little light to be considered the best player in the draft when he plays D-Line.
Was just wondering.

How big do you want the guy to be?
He will probably add some weight and muscle once he gets into the NFL.

300lbs is light?
