What do you think of these Quarterbacks?
Well as most of you know, the Jaguars, which i root for, have a QB need. I'm trying to find some guys, under the radar, who can get picked in the 3rd, 4th, etc and might be steals. I've looked and I've found a couple that I personally like. If you could provide some analysis or where they should get picked for any or all of them, it'd be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to say any positives or negatives. Thanks!
Tony Pike (Cincinnati)
Tim Hiller (Western Michigan)
Dan Lefevour (Central Michigan)
John Skelton (Fordham)
Andy Dalton (TCU, Junior)
Bill Stull (Pittsburgh)
Levi Brown (Troy)
Also barring any trade or FA pickup, the Jaguars will not have a 2nd round pick.
And if there's any other QBs you feel should be mentioned or debated, please say.
If it's deemed spam, it gets deleted.

what I want to know
is if Tebow getsa drafted in round one will you find a cliff and look down the face of it? :) Pike might be the best of those listed and as a phin fan I hope you do draft tebow in round 1
Confidence breeds success, self-doubt breeds failure
If we draft Tebow, it would hopefully be in a round
later than the first. Most of the Jaguar’s fans would hope if we were bent of tebow to get later.

How would Jags fans feel about the team trying to trade down, grab Tebow later in the first and pick up the 2nd round pick they lack and maybe another pick later in the draft?
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
I'm all for recouping value
If we got a 2nd round pick along with anything else, and got Tebow and could get a good defensive player with our 2nd, I’d be good with that.

I think Skelton because he has by far the best tools out of all others listed. Nothing about the other QBs makes me really think they could be an NFL QB.

5th? I need to see what he does at the combine and East-West shrine (if he plays in it) though

Case Keenum
I think that’s how its spelled. Anyone know what year he is off the top of their heads?
fairly sure he's a junior.
also fairly sure Andre Ware was a good system QB and UH.
Also sure Case Keenum is a whole lot like Graham Harrel.

QB
I believe that all of the listed QB will fall to the 3rd, but your guys are playing so well JaGs will not pick untill mid round and Pike may not be there. What about Dan Lafevour in 3rd? If JAGs do not pick Tebow in 1st, how far do you believe he will fall?
I'd love Dan Lefevour in the 3rd
For tebow, I’d think he’d fall anywhere from mid 2nd to mid 3rd. Depending on who else falls with him.

With the number of teams that need QB’s I don’t see Lefevour falling to the later parts of the third, I think he’ll be gone by late 2nd.
Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

Some names for you
I thought of some names that would be best served sitting on the bench and learning from Garrard and the coaches. Threw in some small school kids as well since it seems Jacksonville always grabs one.
Sean Canfield Oregon St.
Goes 6’4 215. Right now I think he is in between rounds 3-5.
Tim Hiller Western Michigan
Goes about 6’4 228. High expectations coming into the year and hasn’t quite lived up to them. Rounds 5-6.
Jarrett Brown West Virginia
6’4 223 runs a rumored 4.58. If he sits on the bench I could see him turning into a Garrard like QB. Classic project I don’t want him touching the field for at least two years.
Jonathan Crompton Tennessee
6’4 226. I’m not a big fan of his, but I’m seeing alot of people saying 5th round.
Joe Webb UAB
6’4 220 4.67. Round 6 is the earliest he goes unless he lights it up during the combine and stuff. Mobile QB in the Garrard mold in that sense.
Mike Kafka Northwestern
6’3 220. I could see him as a late round pick, 7th round most likely.
Zach Robinson Oklahoma St.
6’3 214 I could see him getting some love in the mid to late rounds. Round 4 is the earliest I see him going.
Ryan Perriloux Jacksonville St.
6’3 225. He’s been good since transferring to JST. He’s always had potential I see someone giving him a shot in camp and it could be worth a look.
Rusty Smith Florida Atlantic
6’5 230. Plays better than normal against bigger competition. He was a sleeper going into the year and kind of tailed off like Tim Hiller. Local product may be worth a look.
Matt Nichols Eastern Washington
6-2 220. I only saw him play once and he did very well, of course the competition isn’t the best 6-7 round type.
Tyler Sheehan Bowling Green
6’3 223. Aired it out at BG. Watch their bowl game it is guarenteed fireworks. I can see him getting maybe 7th round, he’ll be in someones camp.
Chris Turner Maryland
6’4 220. Like Crompton, I’m not a fan but I’ve seen people saying 6 or 7th round.
Curtis Pulley Florida A&M
6’3 200 4.62. Local product may be worth a shot.
Kyle Reed San Jose St.
6’3 215. Heavily recruited coming out of high school went to Cal and was battling Nate Longshore and Longshore won the job then when Kevin Riley committed to Cal, Reed bolted. Reed is most likely a UDFA or moved to a different position. I honestly don’t even know why I brought him up.

Thanks Bro
Nice list. Perriloux put up a nice season at Jacksonville St. I think he would be worth a 5th or 6th easily. Everyone seems to forget he was supposed to have big things going for him at LSU before his dismissal. I’m glad you put Jarrett Brown on that list. I had thought about him during the season as a project kind of guy as well. Either one of these would be fine with me, since I’m one of the rare few who still like Garrard as the quarterback of the Jaguars. And I would always rather have a mobile quarterback over a pocket passer, so both of these guys could fill Garrards mold. Garrards 32 yard run in the 2007 playoffs is in my opinion why you always want a mobile quarterback.

What do you think of Thad Lewis?
If hip hop is dead, then it happened the day that Dilla died.
-Akrobatik
To be completely honest with you.
I don’t know.
I’m not usually one to dog on one’s size but 6’1 210(ish) doesn’t exactly excite me. Shouldn’t be drafted higher than 6th round.
He throws very well off the run, holds on to the ball a little too long which leads to some punishing hits on him. He gets balls batted down quit a bit at the line, and his deep balls tend to sail at times.
I wouldn’t complain if he was drafted (as long as it is rounds 6 or 7) but most likely is a UDFA type.

Word
I pretty much agree after watching whatever kinds of tape I could find of him. I’m really liking Jarrett Brown from West Virginia. Like you said he is definitely a project, but I think it works out perfectly for the Jags plans. Garrard is still an above average starter, and has at least two more years of effectiveness left. By Browns third year in the league he could be a player similar to Garrard. Took some time to develop, becomes a good not great starter, and is an athlete who can gain yardage on the ground.
I like Lefevour as well, but I think our first two picks need to be defensive. By the time we are looking for a QB he will more than likely be gone.
If hip hop is dead, then it happened the day that Dilla died.

pike
has decent arm strength and is very accurate. usually makes good decisions. will be average at best though.
Jevan Snead
He’ll probably be taken in the first 2 rounds but if he slips to the 3rd or beyond than he’ll be a great steal. I voted for Lefevour
How about Darryll Clark. He is in a Garrard mold.

Garrad was good in college tho.
Clark stinks.
Clark will probably be undrafted.
Or maybe drafted as something other than a QB (TE? RB? DE? Punter?)

Skelton
Skelton looks likes a freak of nature; how big is that guy? Watching some of the video on him he appears to operate solely from the gun. With him playing in the spread, will he be able to make the switch to the pro style under center? Now, his physical traits appear to be out of this world. How did he slip through the cracks down to Fordham?
Maybe he's a classic over-achiever, I've only recently found out about him,
perhaps one of his family are Fordham Alumni. However, he’ll be great value in later rounds only because he plays for Fordham.

How did he slip through the cracks down to Fordham?
Apparently he has always had an infatuation with the east coast and said if he didn’t get an offer from University of Texas that he would go to school on the east coast. He attended camps at Texas Tech, Houston, etc.. drew interest from UTEP and I believe Tulane but they weren’t UT so he went to the east coast and Fordham won out. Their coach used to be the QB coach (i believe) at Tulane so he mentored Losman, Ramsey, etc.

I like Skelton...A lot.
I just wrote an article on him over at Bleacher Report with a full scouting report. Check it out:
Sleepers are becoming a hot trend of the NFL draft. In fact, one might argue that the “sleeper” is not becoming a huge part of the draft, but it is something that has already become.
In today’s NFL, it seems that the unheralded prospects are the ones making their way to the top faster than others, and the “sure things” are falling through the cracks. Players like DeMarcus Ware and Osi Umenyiora of Troy are having stellar careers when top picks like Vernon Gholston and Jarvis Moss of Ohio State and Florida respectively are largely busts.
Now, am I trying to paint the picture that every small school kid is destined to turn out to be the next great NFL star? Hardly. I am merely suggesting that small schools can produce big playmakers for the National Football League.
Probably the rarest form of a small college sleeper is found at the quarterback position, where former Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco (now of the Baltimore Ravens) has somewhat paved the way for those lesser known signal callers to make their way to the NFL.
Potentially following in Flacco’s footsteps is Fordham quarterback John Skelton, a pro-style field general from the great state of Texas. Though Skelton was not heavily recruited in high school, he has put together one of the more impressive careers in FCS history for the Fordham Rams.
Now, many are going to have to take that last sentence with a grain of salt, but this kid seems to have the skillset it takes to play at the next level.
I am not trying to paint this young gun like the next Peyton Manning, but upon watching some highlight video of what he has done in college, here is a quick scouting report:
Strengths
•Arm Strength
•Footwork
•Escape Ability
•Accuracy on deep throws
•NFL size
Weaknesses
•Lower Release Point
•Not very dominant despite low level of competition, but clearly a man among boys.
Skelton is listed at 6’5" and a remarkable 258 pounds, which is roughly 57 pounds more than he weighed when he was a high school senior. That kind of weight growth is normal for a lineman or tight end, but certainly not for a quarterback. Obviously Skelton has been on some kind of weight training regiment to get him in prime NFL shape.
Despite all of the added weight, Skelton remains very mobile and active in the pocket. Upon watching film, he has excellent footwork in the pocket. He moves around very well and reads the pressure like an NFL quarterback needs to. The speed of the game increases in the NFL probably about 20 times as fast as it is in the Patriot League, but he appears to have the correct instincts to make it work.
Another thing I really liked was his quick release and arm strength, especially on deep throws. In the film available online, he hits deep out routes with relative ease, and has great touch on his deep ball. He doesn’t put too much air under his passes, which is key at the next level in terms of the speed of the defensive backs.
The only thing that concerns me is a lack of pure dominance at a lower level of college competition. He has over 10,000 total yards in his time at Fordham, but players like Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy have demolished that mark against the top levels of competition. You wonder why Skelton has been unable to do that.
Regardless, if a lack of dominance is the only thing preventing this kid, he should be just fine. If he gets into the correct system at the next level, he could be a star two or three years down the road. He has the size and skills to make it at the next level, and he could be one to watch for on draft day.
Skelton can be had likely for the low, low price of a fifth round draft pick or later, so keep an eye out.

Driver of the "Cut Reggie Nelson" Bandwagon.
Max Hall
BYU QB. Completion accuracy of over 70% this year. Last year it was 69.3% Three year starter, super efficient QB. Could be had in the 4th or 5th round.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
No
Arm strength though. And he threw three picks against Florida State and two against Oklahoma, his only true competition this season.

True
but if you could pick up a Chad Pennington in the 4th round would you do it?
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
This Guy
Isn’t quite Chad Pennington though. Pennington rarely commits turnovers, while Hall is a turnover machine. He had like 14 picks this year, and numerous lost fumbles. Plus. while Pennington isn’t all that athletic, he can move better than Hall, who looks like he wears cinder block shoes on Saturdays.
