Arrelioius Benn expected to enter draft today

The speculation is that Illinois junior wide receiver Arrelious Benn will announce at a news conference today that he is leaving for the NFL.

Instead of ruminating on this issue myself, check out what Dr. Saturday Matt Hinton has to say. I think it sums up Benn pretty well:

Rare is the talent that can ultimately produce so little -- just seven receiving touchdowns in three years, four of them in losses -- and still go on dripping with such tantalizing potential.

Yes, Juice Williams did have his issues as a quarterback. And Benn was injured parts of this season. But the lack of production is reminiscent of Darrius Heyward-Bey. Which, financially speaking, could be a good thing for Benn.

Arrelioius, let me be the first person to welcome you to the Miami Dolphins family.

Cause there’s no way in hell you’ll fall past them in round 2.

Jackson was uber productive in college

he had a poor game versus Tennessee—actually his QB had the bad game—and the story became that he was overhyped.

Benn should get like a 7 handicap for having played with Juice Williams

and having been coached by Ron Zook.

Benn should not be mixed up with DHB....

Juice Williams stunk this season, and Benn was semi-productive. When Juice had a clue, Benn as very good in his Soph season.

He shouldn’t be knocked cuz he QB was horrible…he’ll be a steal the farther he falls.

he wasn’t useless like Juice Williams.

Benn was the only highlight watching Illinois this year. Juice is plain awful most of the time and if Benn had any type of a consistent QB he would have been top 3 WR in college football. Not an exaggeration. Great after the catch, good hands, fast, and underrated strength
