Scouting report: Troy Kropog
Troy Kropog
6’6, 315 pounds | Tulane | Offensive tackle
Strengths: Kropog emerged during his senior season as a top pass protector on the left side. Displays optimal footwork, thanks in large part to his quickness and agility. Very good footwork. Moves really well in the open field. A very similar player to Denver’s Ryan Clady. Against the run, Kropog does a nice job getting positioning by quickly firing off the line of scrimmage. Sinks his hips nicely to use his plus leg strength.
Weaknesses: Kropog could stand to add some bulk to his upper body, but it’s unknown how much more weight he can carry after adding 50 pounds during his college career. Not the best finishing blocker and could flash more nastiness. History of recurring shoulder problems will need evaluation.
Final word: A starter for three years, Kropog could fit a traditional blocking scheme or become a zone blocker. As good of an athlete as an offensive tackle as there is in this year’s class. Still a little raw and might have to sit a year and get stronger.
