Strengths: Wood is incredibly quick off the snap. He get s rid of the ball and gets into his stance effortlessly. Has no durability concerns at all and started 49 consecutive games. Wood is an anchor in the middle of the line who can neutralize most tackles on his own. He does this by getting good hand position and driving the defenders away form the play. Keeps good position thanks to a solid base. Rarely snapped the ball high. Good blitz recognition while the play is developing. Has a frame that can carry much more weight.

Weaknesses: Although Wood was a four-year starter, he needs to do a better job managing the line pre-snap. He could also improve his play in the open field. He doesn't move around especially well, which allows defenders to run around him. A much better pass blocker than run blocker. On inside runs, Wood has to do a better job staying low and keeping his legs moving. Not a candidate teams that run a zone scheme.

Final word: Wood has been a stellar center his whole career. He was named first-team All Big East as a junior and senior, second team as a sophomore and a freshman All American. Team captain in 2008. Wood is a durable offensive lineman who is technically sound and excels in pass blocking. If he can can improve his drive blocking, Wood could be a regular starter at the next level.
