Official Scouting Combine list
The NFL has released the list of players who will participate in the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine.
For me, the most intriguing participant in this year's Combine is Georgia Tech defensive end Michael Johnson. After deciding to skip the Senior Bowl, Johnson's stock has dipped some.
However, at 6-foot-7 and 260 pounds, if Johnson tests well he could skyrocket in the draft.
As could be expected, Southern California has the most participants with 12. That number will drop to 11 with defensive back Josh Pinkard receiving a medical redshirt. Louisiana State is second with 10 participants.

One of the guys I'm interested in watching is
Terrance Taylor. With so few “pure” NTs, I think he could be a much more attractive option if he were to come into the combine in better shape. I get the impression watching him that if he could firm up some, and gain some more stamina that it would translate directly to the field for him. He might get quicker and sustain longer, and I can’t help but think he would be up an available to tackle the ball carrier instead of down on the turf routinely.
I love how he can clog up the works, and I really think if he could just get a little bit more “hang in there” that he could be a very respectable pick…
Thoughts?

Of course
we’ll know right away whether he is considering this angle at all. The weigh in should tell the whole story…

Oooh, good call on Taylor
At the beginning of the year, he was considered by most a first-day pick. He could help himself a good bit in workouts.

I want to see the safeties separate
I expect the Rams to either take a C or S in the 2nd round. If they are able to fill the center vacancy with a FA, however, I figure it’s a foregone conclusion that they’ll take a run-stopping safety in round 2. Patrick Chung, William Moore, Chip Vaughn.. I’ll be watching.
Jay Zygmunt, now that you have fired yourself, please have yourself hired by Seattle. Thanks.
