Combine disappointing thus far

Has the NFL Scouting Combine really been taking place over the past few days?
The 2009 Combine has to be one of the least newsworthy in recent years. No one has really been electrifying. No one has ran under a 4.3 40-yard dash and no one has pushed the bench press bar more than 40 times.
Here are some of the yawn-worthy moments that have taken place:
- The top running backs, Knowshon Moreno and Chris Wells, were slow. Moreno ran a very poor 4.62 and Wells a 4.59.
- Jeremy Maclin of Missouri had an official 40 time higher than 4.5 (although some reportedly clocked him as being much faster).
- Second-tier quarterbacks, Kansas State's Josh Freeman and Ball State's Nate Davis, were less than stellar in passing drills.
- Florida State defensive end Everette Brown measured in at only 6'1 7/8. Michael Crabtree is only 6'1 3/8.
- Offensive tackle needed to be found by a search party and then decided to not work out because he's not in shape.
That all just makes it seem so ... dull.
Still, it's all pretty neat, so check out the following:
• Crabree will have surgery following Texas Tech's Pro Day.
• This year's offensive line class is nearly as good as last year's.
• The guys over at Field Gulls have a good bit of Combine info.
• Niners Nation explains the different drills
