AFCN: Mock Consensus
What are the fresh off the presses Mock Drafts saying about the AFC North's picks? Here are the picks from the 25 most recent mocks on HailRedskins Mock Draft Database.
Browns, #5 Pick
| Player | Aaron Curry | Malcolm Jenkins | Brian Orakpo | Everette Brown | Micheal Crabtree | Micheal Johnson |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 15 | 4 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
By far the strongest consensus in the division. Curry was the only player taken by the same team over half the mocks by one of the 5 teams I looked at.
6 of the 25 mocks included a second round
| Player | Shonn Greene |
Duke Robinson | Alphonso Smith | Clint Sintim | Max Unger |
|
Times Picked (of-6) |
2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Bengals, #6 Pick
| Player | Jason Smith | Eugene Monroe |
Micheal Oher |
Andre Smith | Brian Orakpo | Chris Wells | B.J. Raji | Malcolm Jenkins | Aaron Maybin |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 6 | 5 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
here it is sorted by position
| Position | OT |
DE |
RB |
DT |
CB |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 17 |
3 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
With the #6 pick the Bengals will likely have their choice of a few top OTs, which will be hard to pass up for a team that struggled to pass protect and run the ball.
and the 2nd rounder...
| Player | Paul Kruger |
Kenny Britt |
Mike Mickens | Micheal Johnson | Max Unger |
|
Times Picked (of-6) |
3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Ravens, pick #26
| Player | Alphonso Smith | Darrius Heyward-Bey |
Percy Harvin |
D.J. Moore |
Aaron Maybin |
Clay Mathews |
James Laurinatis |
Everette Brown | Micheal Johnson | Jeremy Macklin |
Clint Sintim |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 5 | 4 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
and sorted by position
| Position | WR |
CB |
DE |
LB |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 9 | 8 | 4 | 4 |
no player was repeated in the 6, 2nd round mocks for the Ravens. WR Derrick Williams, DT Evander Hood, CBs Mike Mickens, Coye Francies, Darius Butler and Jarius Bird all appeared as the Ravens pick once.
Steelers, pick #32
| Player | Alex Mack | Max Unger |
Duke Robinson | William Beatty |
Lewis Delmas |
Alphonso Smith | Jason Smith | Tyson Jackson | Will Moore |
D.J. Moore |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 9 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
and sorted by position
| Position | C |
G |
S |
CB |
DE |
OT |
| Times Picked (of-25) | 13 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
No consensus on a second rounder for PIT. Guards Herman Johnson and Andy Levitre, T Dallas Reynolds, OLB/DE Connor Barwin and CBs Asher Allen and Victor Harris were given as Steelers 2nd rounders.

I think the consensus by Browns fans (at least those at DBN) is that the Browns will take either Curry or Jenkins, with Crabtree being a possibility if he drops (which is doubtful). The Browns need help in all areas of the defense so either Curry or Jenkins would be a big help. They probably need a big-time pass rusher the most but there doesn’t seem to be one worthy of the 5th pick. Jenkins would give them a very good, and possibly great secondary, which could hopefully cover some of their deficiences getting to the QB. I don’t know much about Curry, but from all reports he’s going to be a great linebacker and the Browns are sorely in need of those also.

If we (the Browns) take any C besides Alex Mack in the 2nd round, I will be furious. I doubt Mack will drop that far, so basically if we take a C in the 2nd round I will be furious.
With either Jenkins or Curry already selected, I would not mind the Browns “reaching” for a guy like Larry English over Max Unger.
I would be delighted if Smith dropped that far and we hadn’t picked Jenkins in the 1st round.
Does MtD have a “big board”?

just look at the OT rankings chart on my OT post back on Stampede Blue
he’s ranked anywhere between 2nd and 6th among OTs, and that’s just among people who know what they are talking about. Some of the mocks out there are hilariously bad, I didn’t check for quality in each of the 25 mocks I looked at.
You’ll get a big gap in opinions on just about everything from 25 random people.

I realize that
It is just a huge difference (in my opinion) but this far off pre-Combine and all I understand how there’s only game tape to go on rather than all the drills they run at the Combine, and then all the private workouts that take place as well. Just made me me think is all.
