Strengths: A defensive end in college, Brown is a good fit to be a rush linebacker in a 3-4 because of his excellent athleticism and speed. Brown has a plus straight-line burst that allows him to close quickly on the ball carrier. Changes direction pretty well and displays good agility. Knows how to properly use his hands and disengage from blockers. Rushing the passer, Brown keeps low and easily dips around the corner.

Weaknesses: Brown is almost completely untested against the pass and this could be a big learning curve for him to overcome. Will need to get much stronger in the pros without ruining his speed. Struggled against the run and strong offensive linemen give him trouble. Also indecisive as a tackler in the open field. Doesn't hustle down the line like you'd like to see from a linebacker. Lacks a good pass rush repertoire and relies mostly on his speed. Has some injury problems.

Final word: A three-year starter for Connecticut, Brown was highly productive. He finished his career with 45.5 tackles for a loss and 24 sacks. He did mostly from the end position, although he stood up at times. In the pros, he's almost strictly a 3-4 rush linebacker, which limits his opportunities. He's not as complete a player as Clint Sintim or Clay Matthews III either.
