New two-round mock draft

After a long wait, and several edits and restarts, there is new mock up on the site. Apparently it's a bad idea to attempt a mock at the start of free agency. Who knew?

A couple guys in the top 64 didn't make it into the mock. They were Shonn Greene, Javon Ringer, Jonathan Luigs, Nate Davis and Rashad Jennings. Three are running backs, a position not heavily in need this year.

So, tear this thing apart. There will probably be at least two more mocks before the draft. And don't forget, if you've got a mock, toss it in a fanpost and have at it!

Nice

I like you’re picks for the Steelers-I’m a big fan of Alex Mack but I’d be surprised if Hood falls that far, but I’d be delighted if he did. Still I’m holding out for 2010 when Terrence Cody and that Nebraska guy Suh (I think) come out for the draft.

Anyway if you want to take a look, here’s my Steelers Mock Draft on BTSC.

Phew

I was a little scared of the picks I gave Pittsburgh. I love Mack and think he’d fit perfectly for the Steelers.

Terrence Cody? Yuck.

i like Pat Chung

in the second round for the Black and Gold. I know he’s naturally a SS, but do you think he could make the transition to FS, and maybe take the spot of Ryan Clark in a year or so? I know he’s played there and CB before.

He could

But I don’t know that he’ll be there when they pick. I was thinking of a replacement for Cook, but most of the top safeties were gone at that point.

I want Jerry for Indy so much

hopefully it’s like when I wanted Chris Johnson or Matt Forte not like when I wanted Justin Harrell.

If Jerry didn’t fall I’d have still liked Britton, Nicks, Britt, Wells, Laurinitis, Beatty or Shady McCoy with Ziggy Hood in the 2nd.

I figured you’d like that. Does that lessen your anger because I couldn’t fit Greene into the first two rounds?

by Dan Kadar on Mar 8, 2009 6:11 PM EDT up reply actions

well

it’s hard for me to get too upset about him not being an early pick when I wouldn’t want Indy to take him, even though they could use a RB. He hasn’t shown he can catch so that really narrows who would want him.

Him showing up in shape and (as far as I heard) not Manninghaming* the interviews saved him from the sub par 40 in my mind, but he still isn’t a Indy back.

*I’m really pushing to get that phrase to catch on.

HA! Manninghaming it might be my new favorite expression. I’m not sure my boss will like it, though.

Boss: Why were you late to work today Dan?
Dan: Well, sir, I guess I Manninghamed it today. You know?
Boss: I don’t. You’re fired.
Dan: sobs uncontrollably

I don't think how ridiculously stupid that situation was got enough press

I didn’t prepare for this.

Sorry

I’m lost here. Could you please explain what happened? I’m assuming you’re talking about Mario Manningham.

by Brendan Scolari on Mar 10, 2009 2:21 AM EDT up reply actions

He failed two drug tests at michigan

then when teams asked him about it at the combine, he seemed offended and unprepared, then lied, saying he didn’t fail any drug tests.

I think that if the Bills close out day 1 with both Orakpo and Robinson, I will do back flips for a week.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

as a vikings fan...

those first 2 rounds are horrible for the Vikings. The Vikings could use a CB, but they do not need one, especially enough to reach for one with the 22nd spot. If they are going to reach for a player, it better be someone like Nicks. I’m still holding out hope that Brian Cushing will be available at 22. Replace Leber with Cushing and the Vikings instantly have one of the top 3 front 7s in the league

by PurplePeopleEaters09 on Mar 10, 2009 2:55 AM EDT reply actions

Given the scenario

Cushing is long gone. Tell me who you would have picked in those spots. No trades.
