Scouting report: Andy Levitre
Andy Levitre
6'2, 318 pounds | Oregon State | Guard
Strengths: A powerful left tackle who is making the switch to guard, Levitre showed at Oregon State he has the versatility to play along the line. He plays with a lot of toughness and finishes his blocks consistently. Showed good awareness to pick up the outside blitz. In the run game, Levtire always keeps his legs moving to push back defenders. Very experienced. Team captain.
Weaknesses: Levitre can be very slow off the snap, which could cause him leverage problems at the next level. Needs to use better body lean. He'll often not keep his shoulders square with his hips. Has short arms, which allows defenders to get inside his pads. Probably won't be a factor on pulls and traps.
Final word: Levitre was named to the Pac-10 first team in 2008 following an excellent season. He projects as a guard at the next level because of size concerns. He gets by on tenacity and hard work. However, that's not always projectable to the next level.
Round projection: 4
