Rock out with your mock out MSM

With less than two weeks before the draft, the mainstream media is starting to push out its mock drafts. Some are funny. Some are interesting. Some are downright terrible.

Star-divide

The reknowned Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News has his first mock. His top five:

  1. Detroit: Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia
  2. St. Louis: Jason Smtih, OT, Baylor
  3. Kansas City: Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
  4. Seattle: Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
  5. Cleveland: B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College

Thoughts: Some people are starting to give Seattle Crabtree again and I just don't see it. To me, it's quarterback or left tackle for the Seahawks.

Sam Farmer of the esteemed LA Times released his second mock.

  1. Detroit: Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia
  2. St. Louis: Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
  3. Kansas City: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
  4. Seattle: Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
  5. Cleveland: Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas

Thoughts: Interesting to see Monroe going ahead of Smith.

Here's the lastest from Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune:

  1. Detroit: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
  2. St. Louis: Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
  3. Kansas City: Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
  4. Seattle: Mark Sanchez, QB, USC
  5. Cleveland: Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas

Thoughts: Talk of Sanchez over Stafford to Seattle has gained some momentum of late. That's why the draft process can be frustrating. You don't know what is smoke and what is fact.

The Kansas City Star has one of the best football sections in the country. Here is the team's first mock.

  1. Detroit: Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia
  2. St. Louis: Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
  3. Kansas City: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
  4. Seattle: Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
  5. Cleveland: Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech

Thoughts: Crabtree to Cleveland is interesting. The Browns do need more playmakers on offense. However, as far as I know, the team has had no contact with the receiver. Also, is Curry a slam dunk to Seattle if Kansas City passes on him? I think so.

I Have Eugene Monroe

Over Jason Smith. Smith isn’t that elite, I think Monroe and Andre Smith are both over Jason Smith skillwise.

Thats Good For Another Jacksonville... First Down.
