SB Nation Writers Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick #46

HOUSTON |
Sorry, no analysis was provided for this selection.
MTD thoughts: I actually made this pick for Battle Red Blog, who missed the selection. It was made because, while Steve Slaton had a good rookie year, he's not a workhorse. In this scenario, he could split carries with McCoy. It would give the Texans' offense the ability to rely on the run, which is probably best for the franchise.

Shonn Green
May have been the better pick. Slaton is a fast, shifty back, which is essentially what McCoy is. With Green, the Texans could get a pounder who could wear the defense down, finish games, and pound the ball in the redzone(an area which the Texans struggled last year).

Work horse
Slaton is a workhorse. He had over 1,200 yards and didn’t start til a few games in the season. We should target a back in round 3-4 that will be his back up.
