SB Nation Writers Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick #60

Another day of the SB Nation writers mock draft comes to a close with the latest pick from Big Blue View's EtVal.
I was really conflicted as to what to do with this pick. I have already taken a wide receiver (Darrius Heyward-Bey, 29) and offensive tackle (William Beatty, 45). I was sorely tempted to grab either Shonn Greene or Rashad Jennings, probably the best two running backs available. I felt like this pick needed to be defense, though, and Mickens seems to have the biggest upside of any of the defenders left at linebacker or in the secondary. Besides, the Giants lost Sam Madison, R.W. McQuarters can't cover anybody anymore, and the way the game is played now you can never have too many corners who can cover. This seemed like the best way to upgrade the depth on the defensive side of the ball.
MTD thoughts: This is a little bit of a reach for Mickens, who might not do well covering shifty slot receivers. I also like Victor Harris more, a player with a similar skillset.

Nice pick. Mickens is going to be a damn good corner in the NFL.

you couldn’t take a better pick here. After grabbing damne near dream draft picks in DHB and Beatty, in the 1st and 2nd round no less.
Mickens is a starting caliber CB. The guy could go in our rotation in his rook year. Webster Ross are the starters, but then Thomas and now Mickens as the backups, the giants would be just downright filthy.
Mickens is a nice pick. If they do indeed grab him here Id kinda be dissappointed cuz I don’t see him as a second round need., but if they had previously grabbed DHB and Beatty I’d be growing a semi (no-Homo) if they grabbed Mickens here.
