Agency to draft site: Govern yourself accordingly
That's what representatives from Athletes First, where Southern California's Clay Matthews III is a client, told NFLDraftBible.com in a letter today. That's according to the venerable Pro Football Talk.
Here's the quick skinny. NFLDB reported that Matthews and fellow Trojan Brian Cushing tested positive for steroids at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The letter to NFLDB claims Matthews and Athletes First have not received any word from the league about a positive test.
Now, this ball of mess is back in NFLDB's court thanks to the "Govern yourself accordingly" line that ended the letter. Legal to laymen translation: You better do something, or the next time you hear from us it won't be as civil.
So, what is NFLDB to do? The site has two options. It can either issue a formal apology publicly and renounce the claim, or it can stand by its source and fight this thing.
It all depends on how trustworthy the site's source is and how much the site wants to stick to it.
