Top prospect's career is likely over

It is now appearing certain that the career of Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich is over.

Undergoing chemotherapy for a rare form of cancer, Herzlich told Rivals.com the following:

Playing again is a goal. But from what the doctors say, it isn't very likely. Once they do the surgery to remove the tumor, it will be pretty damaging to my leg.

This is such a sad and unfortunate situation. Not only is Herzlich a top pro talent, but he plays the game the right way. He's intense and he hustles. All anyone can hope now is that he can overcome the cancer and complete his business degree at BC.

Site note: Yes, I know Herzlich is still in the mock draft and outside linebacker rankings. They will be adjusted as soon as possible.
