Oregon suspends Blount for season following punch
The Associated Press is reporting that Oregon will suspend running back LeGarrette Blount for the remainder of the season after he punched Boise State's Byron Hout following Thursday night's game.
"We do not and will not tolerate the actions that were taken by our player. Oregon's loyal fans expect and deserve better," Oregon president Richard Lariviere said in a statement. "The University of Oregon Athletics Department is reviewing the situation and will take appropriate action, reflecting the seriousness of the player's behavior."
Blount punched Hout after he was taunted by the Boise State defender. Boise State won 19-8 in a contentious, albeit mostly dull, game. Blount rushed for negative-5 yards on the night and generally looked slow and not very shifty.
Going into the season, I had Blount rated as the second-best senior running back prospect in the nation. This incident will push him far down the rankings.
It would seem unlikely that Blount will now get taken in the first five rounds of April's draft. To me, he was a solid second-round prospect.

Idiot
You went from one good season away from a possible first round pick to 5,6,7th round draft pick all because you couldn’t restrain yourself. Granted, Hout deserves to be punished as well for taunting. But still don’t go and slug him.
Just the punch wasn't the worst thing ever
but he had issues before, plus he swung at teammates, charged a fan and shoved the cops that finally dragged him away.
It's not just your perceptions that can be wrong. Even your memory is often incomplete or possibly flat out wrong.
I see him being a UDFA
" Of course Steroids should be allowed! I wanna see 700 foot home runs and 90 yard field goals! I litterally want to see someone's d**k get shoved in the dirt!"
