Not sure if Spikes can handle the deep middle in the Tampa-2
and really doubt the Colts would spend a first rounder on a SAM.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
if I was making the #32 pick with the players available it'd be Brian Price

I disagree S&B
Not that I think the Colts will draft Brandon Spikes or that Brandon Spikes cant handle the cover 2 middle (I agree on both those) But I think the Colts will draft a SAM high. Its such an inportant posistion and Brackett is still good but getting old. I think they could draft a MLB if one falls to them that obviously shouldnt be there. I just dont see one in the first round that they would like. However, If Rolando McClain fell to them at 32, I think they would draft him, do you?
I could be wrong, but I got the idea McClain could handle the coverage in a T-2
I’m not opposed to an MLB early. It’s a really key position in a Tampa-2, so I could see it.

I agree, he wouldn't get past Miami

It was Hypothectical
It was more of a joke because I said “Do you think they would pick him at 32?”

The Way Brackett has played tonight
Maybe he comes back though. I thought he looked pretty good. Still, They definitly should look towards the future.

Brackett had a great game
I think he’ll be back because he’s got so much more value to T-2 teams than anyone else, and beyond Indy there aren’t too many T-2’s left.

The RT was a first round choice just a couple of years ago
management has said they like Backus at LT and he’s signed through 2011. Can’t see them paying starting LT money for two different players.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Backus is old
He gave up 9 sacks this year and 10 sacks every year the 4 before. Just because managment says they like him, doesnt mean they wont draft OKung and play Backus beside him for now. Thats a good pick.
OKung Backus 2.0?`
Thats a first. I dont agree, but as much as Lions fans love Backus it should be a perfect fit. They need a LT, I like that pick.
Of course you like it for the Lions, you're a Chiefs fan
I just don’t see the “dominance” some folks are talking about with Okung. I’m not a Backus fan at all, but Okung is NOT an upgrade for us. This past season there was a revolving door at LG and the previous seasons we had a beyond washed up Edwin Mulitalo. Get a solid LG next to Backus and he’ll be fine.
Okung would fit with the Chiefs at LT and allow Brandon Albert to move back to his natural LG position. Here with the Lions, we’d have 2 LT with hefty contracts and still wouldn’t have a LG (Backus can’t play guard)
Just my worthless 2 cents
Why does me being a Chiefs fan have anything to do with it.
I wouldnt care if the Chiefs pick O Kung to be honest. However, Albert is younger and better than Backus. Why should the Chiefs draft him but the Lions shouldnt?
No way do i think we take a LB in the first round
GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!
previously known as (ANGELSFAITH)
I do think Berry will fall that far
Safety isn’t a premimum position but he a rare kind of prospect. The Chiefs want playmakers and I think Eric can be one for them.
For the Cowboys, do you think ya’ll would want Williams or LaFell?

Thank you Z
The Jaguars, Broncos, and Dolphins have a good spot, we get to get some pretty good crumbs that make it out of the top 10.

Good Job Teal Deal
A couple Things;
Pick 2- Love it, I have the same in mine.
Pick 5- I love this pick too. People keep putting McClain and it isnt going to happin IMO. Pioli passed on Curry last year and he was a much better prospect. Berry is the best player in the posistion they need the most besides NT. Good Pick.
Miami and Pitts- You might have it right. I dont think Cody goes after Williams but if any team does take Williams, it wont be the Dolphins. The Dolphins run a 2 gap scheme so they would most likely want Cody, Who is a better fit. The only way I see Williams going before Cody is if Dallas takes him. But I want argue it to much because they are close.
Hou- I dont think Mays goes that high but you obviously like him more than me.
Jax- Love the Haden pick. Probably one of the best picks in the draft because he is a top 4 or 5 player.
Colts- Agree with S&B, If its a LB, it wont be Spikes. They would most likely draft one that is good against the pass and run and Spikes isnt the most balanced LB but it would definitly be a value pick.
Thanks alot,
Hopefully, with a couple changes, this mock will be better.

Pioli passed on Curry last year and he was a much better prospect.
Completely disagree. Curry was not a better prospect for 3-4 ILB. He was a better prospect for 4-3 OLB but he isn’t as experienced in a 3-4 as McClain is with a great defensive coach coaching him in college. Comparing the two isn’t really fair considering McClain is a true ILB whether 4-3 or 3-4 while Curry is a freak physical talent but really more suited for OLB in a 4-3.
The first 3 picks of the draft will be defense. Pioli loves him some defense.

Id agree McClain is a better fit for the Mike LB
But Curry is a perfect fit in a 3-4 at Will. Also, Curry was heads and shoulders a better player. Probably twice the player. If you’re hoping they will draft McClain be ready to be upset man.
Spikes is not fast, I think a lot of mockers know that. But what I am suprised with is people lack of knowledge of how well plays zone coverage. As a MLB that is mostly what he will be doing, very rarely having to play man coverage(wich he would be every bad at)

*They are typos, get over it*
NT will not be phins 1st round pick
as much as Tebow to jags says you knoiw nothing, NT in round 1 says the same.
In your mock:
Morgan(if staff feels can play OLB)
Thomas(solves a huge problem at FS(especially as expected Wilson is cut)
Kindle
Hughes
Spiller
In that order but remember Dolphin staff coaches South Team in senor bowl. Take a look at roster and who might they fall in love with? Hughes?
Good job

Both Cody and Williams are on the South
Parcells is a guy that believes he can get line guys(both offense and defense) later in draft, takes pride in it. Both LBer coaches gone and replaced with the fired DC of the giants. Fired DC and so far those interviewed for position have all been LBer guys even offered job to Steeler LBer coach the position. What does that tell you?

He has took DL in the first though
I know he took a couple DEs when he was in Dallas. After looking up his draft history, He kinda favoors the offense a little early and drafts his LB/DB in the first as well. So, I get your point.

I don’t like Dez to the Browns. Too much character concerns. I would rather have Haden

Because the NCAA made an example of him after he took advice from Deion?

Not a fan of a TE
because i don’t see the Bengals going for one early in this draft. We have future pass-catcher Coffman and steady no.2 guy JP Foschi, so we just need a steady inline blocker with glue-like hands. Plus our offensive co-ordinator (some say his playcalling is offensive) doesn’t really use TEs much apart from for run-blocking.
Gresham isn’t beyond the realm of possibility though and it adds a playmaker (which we need) but all the smoke signals comming out of the Bengals war-room is WR or S early.

okay
I was split whether to give you Golden Tate or a TE, I’ll probably revise it in the 2.0 version.

2nd-3rd
There’s a couple safeties ahead of him like Earl Thomas, Berry, Mays, Morgan Burnett.

Excellent Mock Draft
Drafting a premium position can do alot for a defense. Would like to trade down to re-coup that 2nd rounder.
Mays will not be a first round pick.
