More Tebow opinion flows, this time from Mayock and McShay

Without question, one of the top storylines in the draft will be where Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will be selected.

More than one NFL talent evaluator has told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Tebow would be taken in the first round. Peter King of Sports Illustrated and NBC was told by two unnamed coaches that Tebow wouldn't last past them in round one.

Everyone, it seems, has their own opinion or inside information on Tebow. This time, we get to hear from the NFL Network's Mike Mayock and ESPN's Todd McShay, thanks to MIchael DiRocco of Jacksonville.com. They were talking with DiRocco about the Senior Bowl.

Mayock:

"Most people think that he’s risking the most of any player coming to play in this game," Mayock said. "I think it’s a brilliant move. Here’s a guy who’s arguably the best player to ever play college football, yet most NFL scouts will probably put him in the third round.

". . . The fact that Tim Tebow is coming here and willing to expose himself to this kind of scrutiny I think speaks volumes to the type of kid he is."

McShay:

"I think we pretty much know as much as there is to know about a player in regards to Tim Tebow," said McShay, the director of college football scouting for Scouts Inc. and an ESPN contributor. "I’ll be surprised if workouts and all-star games change teams’ opinions. I think the one thing that will help Tim Tebow the most is sitting down in those interview rooms. All it takes is one team and one decision-maker to fall in love with him and take him a half a round or full round higher than he should go."

WHY DID YOU JUST SAY THAT?!

Goddamn it. I’m a Gators fan and a Colts fan. If that happened I would contemplate suicide.

It's better than Tebow going to Oakland and his talents getting sucked up

by the black hole which is the Raiders.

His work ethic will make him great

He is mobile and has a great arm. His only issue is his mechanics, and if he can fix that he could be a great QB. And with a work ethic like he has, the playbook transition, the schematic transition, even learning his mechanics, will be easier than many other QB’s with the accuracy and arm.

I am not a Tim Tebow fan but.....

I think it is premature to write anyone off with great physical skills and a high work ethic and who seems to be as greatly motivated as Tebow appears to be.

Josh Freeman was described as a major project, yet he got picked in the mid first round and ended up starting over half the year. Tampa seems to think they have their QB of the future. Is Tebow worse or does he need more work?

I can see Tebow going early in the second round. Washington maybe.

I think he'll turn out better then Sam Bradford.....

cuz Bradford’s going top 10..and some poor sap of a team’s gonna have to start him right away.

Tebow I think will sit cuz the consensus has to be that he’s gotta work on his mechanics. He just can’t start right away.

THo you probably could get some use out of him. He’s unlike a lot of QB’s in that he can run the ball, take hits like a RB and get up no problem. Could use him like he’s used in Florida.

…I just don’t think you can take that sort of QB in the 1st. 2nd…maybe.

I just, for the Jaguars sake…hope they don’t take him at #10.

You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there

Tim Tebow really, really sucks.

He’s a fine person and had a fantastic run at Florida, but let’s be real. He simply is not a good QB prospect.

Holmgren would have drafted Crabtree.

I’d play Tebow at TE and use him in short down and distances to either sneak or fake sneak/pass. Trust me, there are plenty of ways an NFL team could utilize this guy.

Wildcat quarterback

He would be great as a team’s wildcat quarterback.Otherwise, tight end, fullback, or linebacker.

I can see the Vikes taking him

they need someone to replace Favre
