Green Bay Packers team needs

Green Bay’s season ended in disappointment but the future is bright. There are a lot of nice pieces in place but some key positions need to be upgraded before a super bowl run. Green Bay will benefit from an uncapped season because they have a lot of potential free agents. Below are some positions that need to be addressed.

1. Offensive Tackle

- Both Chad Clifton and Mark Tausher are free agents, aging, and lacking production. Packer management is high on T.J. Lang but last year’s 4th round pick still is unproven. Any team looking to make a super bowl run needs a strong offensive line.

2. Outside Linebacker

- The switch to the 3-4 defense was successful but had some growing pains. Free agent to be Aaron Kampman struggled to make the adjustment to linebacker and rookie Brad Jones has potential but isn’t a guarantee.

3. Safety

- Both starters (Nick Collins and Atari Bigby) are potential free agents which could spell trouble. The Packers secondary was exposed in the playoff game against Arizona. GM Ted Thompson has a lot of decisions to make.

could they really go wrong

with using their first 2 or 3 picks on the offensive line? I think Mr. Rodgers would agree.

Cornerback is the 2nd biggest need

Collins will get locked up long term and Bigby will get a 1 or 2 year deal. Corner was the most glaring weakness in the playoffs. They’ll most likely take one in the first three rounds.

CB is a more glaring need than safety or OLB.

The Packers have absolutely no depth at CB and it showed after Harris was injured. Tramon Williams is probably better than Harris now, but the difference between Williams playing nickel and Jarrett Bush playing nickel was massive.

OL, CB, OLB, S, CB, RB, OL, OL,

WE NEED A REAL LT!!!! Then we need a shut down corner… Then we need a Kick Butt OLB opposite Matthews! A better pass rush will make our secondary 75% better… Then we need a physical centerfielder at FS… We need another CB for depth… We know what happens when someone goes down… 500 yds passing by the Steelers! Then we need a good running back in the 6th round to compliment Grant… Then OL DEPTH & Development!

Would Love to Steal a young, (TALENTED) CB in Free Agency… That would really help… I wouldn’t mind if TT went out and got 1 or 2 vets… I know he’s not known for it… but, a REGGIE WHITE/Woodson type signing would really get the FAN BASE behind him! Then in the draft we don’t have to worry so much about drafting a guy that has to start!

I would say we need 4 starters on Defense and 4 Starters on Offense…

OLB, CB, S, ILB,

LEFT TACKLE, G, Maybe another Tackle or G depending on how things shake out???
AND A RB… (To spell Grant) if we can address these things via FA, TRADES & THE DRAFT… It’s SuperBowl or BUST!!!! : )

GO PACK!!!!

CB is more of need than safty

Al Harris is 35, plus with that knee he will not keep up with WR’s. Woodson is 33.
So Draft should be 1) left tackle 2)Cb 3) Safty 4) OLB unless chillar or Bishop or Jones is more capable than we know or TT or MM know something we don’t. I think we need 1 or 2 Free agents. Then on top of this a punter and return man.
