I Feel the Need, the Need for a Mock OWWW
Here we go guys, 7 rounds of pure mockery brought to you by Mock....... TJ Mock. Draft order used by wikipedia, so if something is wrong then go there and change it.
WARNING for some reason tight ends and cornerbacks fell in this mock........don't know why just happend that way.
Also some picks are due to a player interviewing with a certain team, I realize they interview many many players and I also realize there are these things called smokescreens however I still use them because you never know.
1. Rams DT Ndamukong Suh Nebraska
In all honesty I flipped a damn coin. The GM was in the Atlanta front office when they picked Ryan over Dorsey do we see a repeat? Is Suh too good to pass up? Is Clausen worth the guarenteed money? Who is the owner?
2. Lions S Eric Berry Tennessee
Apparently McCoy and Suh are too small for Gunther Cunninghams defense so Berry it is. It still fills a need and teaming him with Delmas gives them a very young very talented safety tamdem.
3. Bucs DT Gerald McCoy Oklahoma
No shocker here they go with who's left out of Suh/Berry/McCoy and it happens to be McCoy.
4. Redskins T Russell Okung Oklahoma St.
This was tough, give them Clausen or Okung? I went with Okung because the line is horrible and Clausen would probably sit behind Campbell but no matter who their QB is they're not going to do much with that line. Shanahan has never taken a lineman this high (that I recall) but then again I don't think he's ever needed one as bad as he does now (that I recall).
5. Chiefs LB Rolando McClain Alabama
TRADE ALERT. I could see them trading down with both QBs available, but in this case I went with McClain due to Berry already being taken. I figured ILB is more of need than CB and I have a huge man crush on McClain so I hooked him up.
6. Seahawks QB Jimmy Clausen Notre Dame
This could be interesting as well and I think Petey starts off his Seattle tenure by drafting Clausen.
7. Browns CB Joe Haden Florida
It's great when BPA is actually a need.
8. Raiders T Bruce Campbell Maryland
Oh Al whatever will you do. I took Campbell because I think Al Davis will give every opportunity to JaMarcus Russell. He will build a better line and give him more weapons and if he can't succeed with that then maybe he will stop believing in Russell.
9. Bills QB Sam Bradford Oklahoma
They need a "face" to the franchise and Bradford is it. I can't see them going any other way. If both QB's are gone by this point I wouldn't be surprised to see Dan Williams here as there is growing talk that a 3-4 defense could be happening.
10. Broncos WR Dez Bryant Oklahoma St.
TRADE ALERT. This is probably the toughest pick in round 1 to gauge. Maybe Iupat? He's climbing up boards but I don't have the balls to put a guard #10 overall. Derrick Morgan? I don't think he is a 3-4 DE. Dan Williams? Maybe. Brandon Spikes? Too high. With the Brandon Marshall situation I gave them a WR, but I could see them trading up or down. With last years shocker of Moreno I wouldn't rule out a guy like Odrick to play DE. Cameron Heyward decinding to return to Ohio St. really screwed them. Have I told anyone how much I dislike Jerry Angelo?
11. Jaguars DE Derrick Morgan Georgia Tech
I read an article and Wayne Weaver stated he wants a guy next to Henderson! Now is that a DT like Price? Morgan can be next to Henderson. IS it a safety and in the huddle he must stand next to Henderson? Is it Tebow and they have to stand next to each other on the sidelines? I don't know. But with that thing they called a pass rush I gave the edge to Morgan.
12. Dolphins LB Sergio Kindle Texas
TRADE ALERT. I like Kindle but not this damn much. I could see them trading down or up if McClain floats their boat. But with me not doing trades I gave them Kindle.
13. 49ers RB CJ Spiller Clemson
Their return game is pretty bad, and that's putting it nicely. Spiller bumps that up immediately and provides a home run threat on offense.
14. Seahawks S/LB Taylor Mays USC
Da da da. From what I'm reading damn near every scout thinks Mays will not only fail but EPIC fail at safety. But there is one guy who believes he can be a safety (besides Al Davis) and that guy is Pete Carroll., There is some talk of a possible switch to a 3-4 defens so maybe Dan Williams comes into play here.
15. Giants DT Brian Price UCLA
Could go Price could go safety could go Iupati could go to the super bowl? I don't know what happend last year but it's the first time that my two super bowl picks didn't even make the playoffs. Price is great value here and if Wayne Weaver means another DT next to Henderson then I expect them to go Earl Thomas.
16. 49ers G Mike Iupati Idaho
Tough call right here. Give them a tackle or give them Iupati? I gave them Iupati, I admit I was probably the last person to jump on the bandwagon (shut up Dar) but now I'm the damn driver of the bandwagon.
17. Titans DE Carlos Dunlap Florida
Could go corner here if they rate one high enough. I myself only have one corner rated as a 1st round pick (Haden) so I tend to think they go DE with Dunlap. VandenBosch himself said he doesn't expect to be back so Dunlap could take over for him if he isn't sleeping in his car. I also wouldn't rule out Navorro Bowman, although the likelyhood is alot less.........you never know. Maybe Earl Thomas as some scouts feel he can play CB.
18. Steelers NT Dan Williams Tennessee
This was tough between a safety and Dan Williams. NT are at a premium and with more teams considering the switch I feel they snag Williams up quick.
19. Falcons DE Everson Griffen USC
Like the Titans if they rate a corner high enough then they can take them but with me feeling none is worthy I gave them a pass rusher in Griffen. Maybe Earl Thomas some say he can play CB.
20. Texans DB Earl Thomas Texas
I'm reading more that scouts feel Earl Thomas can play corner as well and both happen to be needs.
21. Bengals WR Golden Tate Notre Dame
I really think they go WR in round 1 the question is which one? They need a big play threat and for that reason I gave them Tate. I know they tend to like a bit bigger WRs but the big play threat might be to good to pass up.
22. Patriots NT Terrance Cody Alabama
TRADE ALERT. Because it's the Patriots they always trade for more picks the next year plus they might not feel Cody is worthy here. There is word that Saban and Belicheck had some talks about Terrance Cody. VInce Wilfolk want's out and if Belicheck feels Cody is capable to take over then a Cody/Brace combo could let that happen.
23. Packers T Brian Bulaga Iowa
TRADE ALERT. I read that they are very high on Iupati (who isn't?) so they could be looking to move up. I also read (yes I do lots of reading) that some of their scouts said they would not be surprised to see a safety in round 1 to compete with Bigby. With Iupati long gone and me feeling no safety is worthy here I gave them Bulaga and that isn't exactly stupid.
24. Eagles DE Brandon Graham Michigan
Brandon Graham has impressed so I give him the nudge over Jason Pierre Paul. With the Andrews brothers being hurt way too often I wouldn't be surprised to see OL Vladimir Ducasse here, some scouts say he is a late 1st/early 2nd round guy.
25. Ravens WR Brandon LaFell LSU
If a corner stands out at them I could see that. I could see Gresham. I could see a WR One thing I learned is you don't question Ozzie.
26. Cardinals LB Ricky Sapp Clemson
This is a tough one as they could use a tackle but also they need a OLB. Berry retired and from what I read they won't retain Okeafor so to me it comes down to Sapp/Hughes. I'm seeing alot of Sapp in round 1 mocks so I follow the lead.
27. Cowboys T Anthony Davis Rutgers
I would not be surprised if this pick is Jared Odrick. But Flozell should be gone soon and if Free is indeed the heir to LT than Davis would make a fine RT.
28. Chargers DE Jared Odrick Penn St.
Tough choice here between Dwyer/Best/Odrick. I was leaning toward Dwyer but my hand wrote Odrick and the hand always wins.
29. Jets CB Kyle Wilson Boise St.
I've been reading that the Jets are interested in Odrick/Tyson Alualu and Kyle Wilson. With Odrick gone and I don't feel Alualu is worth a 1st round pick I gave them Wilson another guy that I don't feel is worth a first round pick. Funny how sometimes that works out huh?
30. Vikings CB Patrick Robinson Florida St.
Once again I don't rate these corners as 1st round guys, I have them as 2nd rounders but meh. Robinson fills a need with Griffin and Winfield both battling injuries depth is definitley an issue.
31. Saints LB Navorro Bowman Penn St.
This pick is easy BPA on defense. I gave Bowman the edge over Weatherspoon and I don't feel Spikes is an OLB so Bowman it is.
32. Colts T Charles Brown USC
They could use a LT and Charles Brown fits the bill. I don't see a DT of value here, maybe a safety if they feel Burnett is the right value and fear of losing Bethea/Bullitt as RFAs? If they rate Trent Williams higher he could be the pick over Brown.
ROUND 2
33. Rams QB Tony Pike Cincinnati
Umm yeah see what happens when you pass on a QB you get stuck with Tony Pike. I don't think Tony PIke is as bad as some make him to be but he also isn't as good as some make him out to be.
34. Lions RB Jonathan Dwyer Georgia Tech
They could go in a number of directions RB/G/DE/CB so I gave them Dwyer who is a legit 1st round talent.
35. Bucs DE Jason Pierre Paul South Florida
They needed a DE before they traded Gaines Adams (RIP). Pierre Paul could be gone by here but in my mock he was available.
36. Chiefs OL Vladimir Ducasse UMASS
TRADE ALERT. I could see the Chiefs trading here with some good talent like Ducasse, Trent Williams, Spikes, Damian Williams all available someone has to be calling Pioli. However since I don't do trades I gave them Ducasse. Why I have no freaking clue I don't think he fits the zone blocking they do there so consider it a brain fart.
37. Redskins QB Tim Tebow Florida
WOW!!!!!!! They say Snyder likes to make a splash. Is there a bigger splash than God himself? Tebow will sit behind Campbell and learn. Feel free to thank me Jaguar fans.
38. Browns WR Damian Williams USC
Could go a number of ways, I was leaning towards a safety but Williams is too good to pass up here. I realize they drafted two WRs in round 2 last year but Williams is a better prospect than Robiskie/Massaquoi.
39. Raiders WR Taylor Price Ohio
Word is that the Ravens/Panthers/Bucs all have Price as a top 60 pick. Al Davis laughs because he never heard of this guy upon him looking him up he sees he runs in the 4.38 range and has a heart attack. Al Davis will be missed this pick is in honor of you. Hope I don't offend anyone by that.
40. Seahawks T Trent Williams Oklahoma
Alot of people are saying this guy ISNT a LT and yet I still see mocks with him in the top 10. *shakes head* I don't know if he falls this far, I don't know if Seattle would be interested. I almost gave them Toby Gerhart.
41. Bills LB Brandon Spikes Florida
With Trent Williams gone I gave them Brandon Spikes. If they switch to a 3-4 I feel he can handle it but maybe they go in a different direction like Wootton or Alualu. For those going to say Spikes won't fall check out Laurinitis, Mauluga, EJ Henderson, Demeco Ryans, etc... For some strange reason MLBs fall.
42. Patriots LB Jerry Hughes TCU
Tough choice here between Gresham and Hughes and I went with Hughes. Adalius Thomas could be cut and that pass rush was not good last year.
43. Dolphins TE Jermaine Gresham Oklahoma
If he comes back healthy this could be the steal of the draft. Last year Gresham would have been top 15 picks. Does he fall this far? Probably not. Is there a chance he could? yeah. Parcells would be crazy to pass him up.
44. Bucs WR Arrelious Benn Illinois
Do they go corner or grab a target for Freeman? Benn is a nice choice here. DAMN YOU JERRY ANGELO!!!!!!!!!!
45. Broncos DE Cory Wootton Northwestern
To me this pick is either DE or Maurkice Pouncey. I went with Wootton.
46. Giants S Morgan Burnett Georgia Tech
Since they went DT in round 1 they go safety in round 2. The question is Burnett or Chad Jones?
47. Panthers WR Demaryius Thomas Georgia Tech
I big target to play opposite of Steve Smith. Give Matt Moore weapons to see if he is capable of being the starter.
48. Patriots RB Jahvid Best California
Don't know if he falls this far but what a steal, what a draft for New England.
49. 49ers S Chad Jones LSU
They still need to address the RT spot but Chad Jones is good value here and it fills a need.
50. Chiefs C Maurkice Pouncey Florida
Some think he can handle guard as well. Either way it's a nice pick for KC.
51. Texans DE Greg Hardy Ole Miss
If healthy and it is a big IF this is a steal. I feel he is the best pure pass rusher in the draft the problem is he misses more games than plays.
52. Steelers DE Tyson Alualu California
Mission add youth to defense. Done it so far with their first two picks. I was considering Nate Allen here but felt Alualu had too much value.
53. Patriots WR Jordan Shipley Texas
Don't question the hoody. Shipley can play the slot vaccated by Welker. They could go a different direction if sold on Edelman.
54. Bengals LB Sean Weatherspoon Missouri
I don't think he falls this far but Cincy would have to pick him up. Interesting LB core with Rivers/Mauluga/Weatherspoon.
55. Eagles CB Donovan Warren Michigan
I like this guy alot and honestly don't know how he fell this far but Philly would have to snatch him up the value is too good.
56. Packers S TJ Ward Oregon
Like I said earlier they are looking at safety and TJ Ward can play SS.
57. Ravens CB Devin McCourty Rutgers
I'm not as high on McCourty as most but some have him as a 2nd round pick and I'll go with them.
58. Cardinals T Jason Fox Miami
Hopefully his heart is fine. If it is they get their LT here.
59. Cowboys DE Arthur Jones Syracuse
Passing on Odrick they go DE here and Arthur Jones is a good pick. Remember when mocks had him as a top 20 pick seems like forever ago.
60. Chargers RB Ryan Matthews Fresno St.
After passing on RB in round 1 they grab Matthews here.
61. Jets DE Lamarr Houston Texas
They missed out on their two DE targets Odrick/Alualu so Houston is the pick.
62. Vikings QB Jevan Snead Ole Miss
I guess, I'm not sure how they feel about Tavaris/Sage.
63. Saints S Nate Allen South Florida
BPA on defense. Who dey who dey ooops the NFL probably doesn't want me saying that.
64. Colts TE Rob Gronkowski Arizona
I don't think a DT is worthy here so I gave them Gronkowski who could be a steal.
ROUND 3
65. Rams ATH Dexter McCluster Ole Miss
I've seen they already interviewed him and it makes sense a nice weapon.
66. Lions G Mike Johnson Alabama
Don't know if he falls this far but in this scenario he did. He can help out that guard position right away.
67. Bucs CB Javier Arenas Alabama
I always thought of Arenas as a 2nd round guy (even when some had him round 1) but I read an article and scouts were saying round 3/round 4, as much as it pains me to say, they do know more than me so I dropped him a little.
68. Chiefs LB Eric Norwood South Carolina
They need to up the pass rush and Norwood is arguably the best available.
69. Raiders C Matt Tennant Boston College
Like I said earlier help JaMarcus anyway possible. Tennant and Bruce Campbell help the OLine.
70. Eagles OL Ciron Black LSU
Andrews Brothers always seem to be hurt so some depth is needed.
71. Browns QB Colt McCoy Texas
I read that either Quinn/Anderson could be traded soon so some depth is needed and McCoy is it.
72. Bills T Selvish Capers West Virginia
Finally get their LT is it too late?
73. Dolphins S Reshad Jones Georgia
Safety help. I think his versatility will catch Parcells as he can play both FS/SS.
74. Bears T Kyle Calloway Iowa
No shocker here offensive line. Calloway could potentially start day 1. Oh no nevermind we don't play our rookies til week 15, stupid me.
75. Jaguars DT Geno Atkins Georgia
Geno Atkins is impressing many at the Senior Bowl and the Jags need that guy next to Hendrson in case we grabbed the wrong one earlier.
76. Giants LB Daryl Washington TCU
As of now this is it but in a couple weeks I could really see him as a solid 2nd rounder.
77. Panthes S Major Wright Florida
I don't know, I saw he was available and said why not.
78. Titans CB Brandon Ghee Wake Forest
Some have this guy in the first, some have him in the third, I have him rated as a 2nd round prospect but like I said way up top (which I know you didn't read) for some reason tight ends and corners fell in this draft.
79. 49ers T Roger Saffold Indiana
I had to get them a RT eventually.
80. Broncos G Jon Asamoah Illinois
I still have yet to hear a definitive answer on how bad his injury is so he could fall or Denver could see the value.
81. Texans RB Toby Gerhart Stanford
Yeah this was kind of a no brainer to me.
82. Steelers LB Sean Lee Penn St.
I don't know about this, alot of people like Sean Lee just not on their team.
83. Falcons CB Perrish Cox Oklahoma St.
Word is the Falcons were the first to interview Cox and he happend to fall so it seemed like a good fit.
84. Bengals TE Anthony McCoy USC
Some scouts say he is a 1st round guy.....while I don't see it, he is good value here.
85. Raiders DE Austen Lane Murray St.
Couldn't go all offense.
86. Packers LB Jason Worilds Virginia Tech
I think he is underrated, he is better suited for 3-4 OLB.
87. Eagles LB Roddrick Muckelroy Texas
Kind of one of those BPA things.
88. Ravens TE Aaron Hernandez Florida
Another weapon for Flacco. He could go round 2 but like I said TEs and CBs fell in this draft.
89. Cardinals LB Micah Johnson Kentucky
I was thinking he might fall a bit but Arizona needs insurance in case Dansby leaves.
90. Cowboys WR Danario Alexander Missouri
Maybe they get rid of Roy? Nah but Alexander is nice though.
91. Chargers CB Dominique Franks Oklahoma
I realize they have other needs but with the Cromartie trade talk corner becomes a little bit higher and plus Franks is great value here.
92. Browns OL Zane Beadles Utah
They interviewed him he fits at RT so I gave him to them.
93. Vikings DT Torrell Troup Central Florida
In case Pat Williams retires.
94. Saints DT Vince Oghobaase Duke
BPA on defense.
95. Colts LB Rennie Curran Georgia
I'm reading different reports some say he is up to 235 others say 218 we'll see at the combine.
ROUND 4
96. Rams WR Jeremy Williams Tulane
Add another target. I don't know if they go this much offense this early but it cant' hurt.
97. Lions CB Kareem Jackson Alabama
Now they get their corner.
98. Bucs LB Dekoda Watson Florida St.
He came in bigger than expected and I think the Bucs could take a look.
99. Chiefs NT Cam Thomas North Carolina
I like this guy he's a sleeper, fills a need.
100. Redskins G John Jerry Ole Miss
Must protect QB, must open holes for RB. Jerry and Okung help.
101. Seahawks RB Joe McKnight USC
They need a RB it came between Dixon and McKnight and I went with the USC connection.
102. Browns DE CJ Wilson East Carolina
THey have so many picks they can field a team of rookies next year.
103. Raiders ATH Trindon Holliday LSU
He's fast, he's a weapon for JaMarcus. Tell me it won't happen.
104. Bills WR Mardy Gilyard Cincinnati
Don't know if he falls this far but if he does Buffalo jumps on it.
105. Bears WR Carlton Mitchell South Florida
A big WR something Chicago needs. I'm still not a believer in Aromashadu.
106. Jaguars CB Trevard Lindley Kentucky
If he falls this far Jax jumps on him.
107. Dolphins WR Dezmon Briscoe Kansas
I didn't give them a WR earlier so they address it here.
108. Panthers DT Mike Neal Purdue
I don't know.
109. Titans RB Anthony Dixon Mississippi St.
Insurance in case LenDale White leaves.
110. 49ers QB Dan LeFevour Central Michigan
Because Alex Smith is not something we can believe in. Or is he?
111. Broncos LB Darryl Sharpton Miami
EJRuiz had them taking Spikes in round 1 so I figured it's a need and Sharpton is ok value here.
112. Giants DE Branond Lang Troy
Because they love pass rushers like I love mocks.
113. Steelers CB SydQuan Thompson California
Don't know if he falls this far. I don't see him as a 1st round guy that some have him but I don't see him as a 4th either.
114. Falcons LB Perry Riley LSU
It's a need unless they go Bowman in round 1.
115. Texans G Mitch Petrus Arkansas
They have a need at G and he's pretty good.
116. Patriots LB Pat Angerer Iowa
Don't make him Angererey
117. Bengals WR Riley Cooper Florida
A bigger target than Tate. Tate, McCoy, Cooper are nice additions to the Cincy offense.
118. Eagles S Myron Rolle Florida St.
He could keep rising up the boards.
119. Packers CB Amari Spievey Iowa
Harris and Woodson aren't getting any younger.
120. Ravens WR Andre Roberts Citadel
Another weapon for Flacco.
121. Cardinals DB Myron Lewis Vanderbilt
Kind of a BPA thing.
122. Cowboys S Kam Chancellor Virginia Tech
I haven't got a clue.
123. Chargers WR Eric Decker Minnesota
Chargers tend to like their WRs bigger and Decker has size.
124. Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount Oregon
I hope he turns it around.
125. Vikings LB AJ Edds Iowa
I don't know.
126. Saints DE Jermaine Cunningham Florida
I'm tired of typing.
127. Colts DT D'Anthony Smith Louisiana Tech
I'm not doing anymore so called analysis.
ROUND 5
128. Rams TE Colin Peek Alabama
129. Lions DE Lindsey Witten UCONN

I don't like drafting a QB so late
and I’m pretty sure Terrance Knighton, who we drafted last year in the 3rd can play next to Henderson, along with 2 quality backups which we possess.

I misread the article I guess
While Weaver hit the biggest problem square up, he also realizes they need an upgrade in a lot of areas on the field.
“A big guy to help Big John on the defensive line,” was his initial response when asked to identify what was needed most. Then he talked about the offensive line, the need for the defensive backs to play up to their potential and how “we need better play from the quarterback.”
I guess it’s a guy to help him out and not next to him so that’s my bad
After practices, Atkins has been making the rounds visiting with teams, filling out their questionnaires and doing interviews.
He has talked to the Falcons, Chicago, Minnesota and Jacksonville
I saw that he interviewed and I was under the impression that they needed a DT so I gave them Atkins.
McShay, Todd McShay you hear me boy? It's me TJ and I'm coming for your damn job boy! Oh be scared, be very scared McShay.

I get'cha
however, Geno Atkins would be fine if we were trading away henderson. But as of now, I don’t think so. a QB iin the 3rd or 4th would be fine sonce you’ve gotten our biggest need: Pass rush with Morgan.

I like it a lot for Indy
though I don’t know what “um yeah” means on the Charles Brown pick.
As they say, intonation is the next killer app.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
thats what i was wondering what up with the "umm yea"??
I am not sure but I think we could go with LB Daryl washington TCU in the second over the TE and in the 4th or 7th take another OT. I don’t really think we will take a CB but in the 7th it is just BPA normaly
The Horses font feet have cleared the huddle and as time slows it is also time for the back feet to clear and for us to declare victory!!!!! GO COLTS!!!

I just threw Josh Moore in there, it was MR Irrevelent. Honestly I didn’t even think about LB because all we hear is the Colts don’t talk LBs til round 3 or later.

I'd make an exception for MLB since they've paid Brackett (unlike all their OLBs)

So Washington in round 2 is a likely scenario, good to know for the next one.

I like it!
JD Walton in the 5th is good value. I like the Brandon Lang pick….maybe he shows Osi’ what a Troy State DE is supposed to look like?
I like Jimmy Graham in the 7th…cuz its the seventh and the guy has elite talent (tho…..Coughlin and Gilbride still don’t know that the TE is an eligible receiver…) He could be a steal.
I like the Zoltan…but I don’t think they’re drafting a punter.
Joe Pawalek LB, JEROME MURPHY (2nd round talent?) CB, Earl Mitchell DT, Adam Ulatoski RT, Rico McCoy LB, Chris Marinelli RT….
All on the board and would be lovely 6th or 7th rounders.
You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there
Tho...
who are wayne Weaver and Henderson?

Murphy does have the talent but for whatever reason corners just fell in this draft. As I was looking over my notes on needs for whatever I reason I was giving teams everything but corners.
No punter huh? I just figured one gets drafted every year (it seems) and with Feagles ready to collect social security I figured why not them.

they could…
but in the past every single K or P they’ve drafted has made Epic Fail’s seem like successes. I think they’d UDFA a K and/or a P (they already signed Sam Swank….hopefully he doesn’t become Sam “Schank”)
Feagles is really only bad…because the Giants running game SUCKED and they punted more then they ever did from inside their own zone…like, deep in their own zone. In 2008 most drives if they stalled, did so at around the 40 or midfield…allowing Feagles to work his magic.
Its actually not Feagles either…he can still boom 50+ yarders. The coaching staff (ST coach in particular..why he wasn’t fired before the DC…I dunno) tell Feagles to kick it out of bounds because the ST coverage and tackling is horrible.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Feags is still their punter.
And really…Murphy because he’s pretty big, more of an average speed CB…so, seems like a perfect option for Perry Fewell to make into a safety.

Skins fan
Really liked your 1st pick, Okung & Shannahan has twice drafted tackles in the 1st so I think this makes a lot of sense, but Tebow in the 2nd?? I am not a Tebow hater, my daughter went to UF, but I think Tebow will go to a team that can afford to wait for production & has extra draft picks. Really liked John Jones in the 4th & Montario Hardesty in the 5th, never heard of the the LB Moats, I hope they go FS somewhere to get Landry back to SS. Very good mock IMHO
That is the hardest thing to do guess where Tebow is going. But with all the talk of Snyder making the “big splash” is there a bigger splash than Tebow? That would be the talk of the year.
I didn’t even think of FS, I’ll keep that in mind.

You missed the Raiders 2nd pick in the 5th round
They got it from New England through the Derrick Burgess trade.
Incidentally, a pretty good Raiders mock nicely balancing what should happen vs. what Al Davis might actually do.
Instead of Austen Lane with the second round 3 pick, remember this name: Alex Carrington. Seems like the kind of player Davis could love.
"'Tis a bird I love, with its brooding note, And the trembling throb in its mottled throat; There's a human look in its swelling breast, And the gentle curve of its lowly crest; And I often stop with the fear I feel-- He runs so close to the rapid wheel." Nathaniel Parker Willis, "The Belfrey Pigeon"
It’s not on wikipedia and that is the order I went by. I can’t put Carrington ahead of Lane I can’t do it.

as an eagles fan… we could draft mo clarrett at 24, if we end up with rolle + blounte in the 4th i would be a happy camper
VOID!!!
Completely agree..
i was angry at first because we couldn´t get any of the “top tier” Safeties in the first, but graham in the first i would love… and blout and rolle in the 4th i would piss in my pants… only guy I didn’t really like was ciron black in the 3rd, from what I’ve seen he isn’t very good and tackle depth is not as needed as a RG or C
From what I’ve read some feel he is better off at guard than tackle, I just felt the possibilty of being able to play some tackle and guard would be useful with the Andrews brothers injury history.

Everywhere I would have disagreed with you, you already disagreed with yourself.
Good draft for the Giants. I even like the punter choice, why not in the late rounds. We would be so happy with the top 3 that we would not care about later, but Walton also a good pick.
Dislike the Cowboys getting lucky and landing Davis in the 1st. A hex on them.

Don’t really like the Ravens draft too much. I think there is better talent available than some of the guys you chose.
No more LB please. We have so many on the team and unless we are going after McClain or Spikes, there is no need to get more depth.

Sorry
that was my reaction to Pike. I’ve been chewing on it for a couple minutes now and it’s not bad. (sorta tastes like chicken) If we got McCluster I’d be alright but we need to address an OLB earlier. Plug in Ed Dickson for Colin Peek, (I don;t think he got drafted). But it addresses areas that we need in every round. We just need so much that we need like 3 picks in each round. Can you do that?
I think pike would be a good pick up for you guys, however I am not sure if he falls to the 2nd but I think your guy's second is the farthest he falls.

Well be glad I switched it, originally I was going to give them Tebow. This is why if I were the Rams I would go Clausen or Bradford just due to the crap/semi crap left like Pike, Tebow, Snead, McCoy.
I have Ed Dickson going #167 to Cleveland. I have Peek rated higher that is why he is ahead of Dickson, I have Moeaki ahead of Dickson as well.
OLB earlier? what position should I drop instead then? I was leaning towards Dekoda Watson in round 4 but gave you guys WR Jeremy Williams instead.

I'm on the same page as you on Watson I think
Although I like McCluster, Until this week I’d have put OLB ahead of back up RB. In this scenario I’d say plug in Watson. But only because you asked. Like I said it looks better the longer I look at it. No way we get everything we NEED in one draft anyway.
Love the Chiefs draft
Fills a lot of needs. I hate having to take McClain especially with Spikes available in the 2nd but there are just not a whole lot of options. I guess hope for a trade down so we can take Dan Williams
Ultimately I think they trade down unless McClain blows them away. With Berry gone I didn’t see anyother way to go.

I actually think the Bucs go Berry or McCoy, they could get a DE in round 2 like Greg Hardy then again it all depends on Derrick Morgans combine, if he comes out beasting then yeah that could be the pick. If I didn’t have Seattle taking a QB at #6 I was going to give them Derrick Morgan.
As of now I can’t see it, but by March 2nd I could.

Our best and only hope as Chiefs fans is that Berry drops and he is the next Ed Reed (nothing less)
or the QBs drop, Seattle is interested, and somebody makes a desperation trade for Clausen or Bradford lol
by ChiefMizzou09 on Feb 1, 2010 12:36 PM EST up reply actions
I doubt the Chiefs would even take Berry if he was their.
I still dont see him going in the top 3. I think the Chiefs will shock everyone and take someone nobody suspects. Like Dez or Haden, maybe even Brandon Graham. It wouldnt surprise me one bit.
You are confusing the old Chiefs
With the new Chiefs. I really think Pioli and his crew will have a good draft.
Ok?
And who is to say Eric Berry would be a good draft? Jackson wasnt expected until 2 or 3 days before the draft. Pioli has shocked people all the time with picks like Mankins, Mayo, Watson, and Graham. I dont get what you mean. I think your confused.
If Thompson can play safety as well as CB then I'm happy.
Though with Rolle still on the board I could see us picking him up
I getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.
From what I’ve read some think he can play FS, some say no. I’m on the fence leaning towards maybe.

What the f is wrong with you
Did you make this mock just to piss me off. I swear, You dont know anything, your stupid, gay, and you listen to rap music.
No, im just kidding. I like the mock for the Chiefs except for the top 2 picks. Im am not as high on McClain as you and I understand why you put him there. However, I think Haden will be the guy if Berry is gone. Haley and co have been scouting CBs hardcore.
Im obviously not as high on Vlad Duc as you are. I dont think he fits our scheme and his struggles at the senior bowl practice displayed he cant hand talent yet. Maybe later in the draft. I actually like Maurikle Pouncey at that spot before him or nate Allen (Did you see him in one on one coverage by the way, beast).
Im starting to think Clausen could fall too. He just never blew me away at all. He better have a good combine or he may fall even further. Im convinced Bradford will do well at the combine and SEA could grab him.
I love the Bell and Thomas pick. I think Pioli likes Thomas too which is always a plus.
Good job.
I just thought the ILB needed an upgrade more than corner but I fully expect a trade there, especially with both QBs available, someone should be calling. Same with Ducasse I know he doesn’t fit the scheme and also expect a trade there with some nice talent available.
Consider it a brain fart that I didn’t even consider Pouncey at #36, I was thinking of a safety like Chad Jones or Burnett but ultimately put Ducasse down and then when typing this out figured he wouldn’t be a fit and didn’t want to change it so I added TRADE ALERT instead of coming up with some random ridiculous trade idea.
I think Cam Thomas is very underrated so at round 4 I think he is a potential steal.

Yeah
I would actually really like you to. Also, my mock will be out some time during the week. Ill give some time so people can look at yours. Its kinda weird because alot of picks match up. My 2nd round pick for the Colts is Ron Grownkowski. My 1st round pick is gonna be contraversial but ill spill the beans. Right now I have Taylor Mays going 32 to the colts. lol, I think people might be upset.
Also, what do you think about Brandon Graham’s performance? I wouldnt be surprised to see the 5th pick be someone like him. I know people might say its a reach right now, but after he abused a couple really good tackles, I could definitly see him going in the top 15.
I’m finishing the defensive backs now then I’ll send it to you.
I kind of like the Taylor Mays pick as he is going to be a LB most likely. Only teams I can see being interested in him is Oakland, Seattle, and San Diego.
For Graham the positional portion of the combine will be huge, if he shows he can indeed play the rush backer in the 3-4 then I can see him shooting up to #12 to Miami, if he shows he’s only a DE in the 4-3 then I think he can go #11 to Jacksonville if Morgan is off the board. With his performance this week he shot up to the #2 DE for me behind Morgan he passes Dunlap and Griffen and Pierre Paul. Combine will be big for him.

mad props for making 7 round draft
panthers picks were okay even though your explanations revolved around “i don’t know” lol
mardy gilyard will never fall that far because the panthers would want him… the senior bowl hurt him enough to let him drop to us
At #47 Demaryius Thomas can be a steal, as long as the WR coach teaches him how to run routes he can go down as the best WR in this draft. Also I read that the Panthers have stamped Taylor Price as a top 60 pick so if he falls I think it’s him.
At #77 I don’t know how big of a need safety is but Major Wright represents good value there.
Same at 108 I don’t know if DT is a big need but Neal is fair value, Basped and Rico McCoy were just shots in the dark.
I really don’t know what Carolina might do besides a WR so that is why I have I don’t know everywhere for them.

lol, i can go with that then...
the Panthers got a new WR coach that hopefully can develop our receivers… see “Dwayne Jarrett”
TJ, were you the one I remembered not that high on Edds?
he looked good from what I saw at the senior bowl. Don’t think he’ll go to Minny though since Edds was pretty much a poor man’s Chad Greenway at Iowa (which is a compliment).

Yeah at one point I wasn’t real high on him, thinking maybe he looked good because of Angerer but I’m slowly catching on with him.

Ravens picks
not bad The ravens seem easy they certainly need wr’s and could go Lafell. ( Out of the normal draft box — they may try to improve their pass rush or LB early ) CB in the second is reasonable i would look for a better cover guy but McCourty can block punts and return punts Picking Hernandez and Roberts at 3 & 4 seems good I think Ravens will take two wrs and Roberts looks very good as a later pick. As I indicated earlier, I think they may have already picked a LB or DE in the first so they would only be looking at one backer at this time, but I like the Sheffield pick. Scott in the 7th good pick, I had them picking Blount later but he has moved up the draft.
Did you not have anyone drafting TE Andrew Quarless? I may of missed him
You probably made these picks before the Senior Bowl, but do you think Tebow will still go in the 2nd? Not sure even the casual fan will pay to see him.
Over all Good Job
I read an article from the Baltimore Sun (I think that’s what it is called) that said they could go two WRs and a TE in the draft, I just don’t know if it is that early. You think a DE is needed? Which position would you drop?
No I don’t have Andrew Quarless in this. He has some character issues which could drop him a bit but also this is without comp picks, so when those get announced there will be about 30+ more picks. I do think he gets drafted just don’t know where. 4th round talent but could drop some with character.
Only way Tebow goes in the 2nd is if a team like New England takes a shot at him. They use alot of shotgun so that may ease his transition but other than that I think he drops a bit.

Ravens picks
I believe the positions you have them selecting are very good, Even if Reed is coming back, Ravens may drop one of the Line backers and seek a safey in a later round and in an earlier round if he retires. If some how Brandon Graham fell to them in the first, I believe Ravens grab him. Failing that, They could look at Odrick/ Weatherspoon in the first. If they did take one of the big name defenders in the first then a wr in second. Williams , Gilyard or bigger guy like Decker in your draft are available. 3rd CB Franks or Jackson ( I do like TE Hernandez but in this TE would wait) WR Roberts or maybe Mike Williams in 4th a safty and TE in 5th & 6th and Scott, the paper is the Sun

A safety in the fifth f***ing round that’s our top need! The Eagles need a safety in at least the third round or higher!
Actually it’s the 4th round not the 5th.
118. Eagles S Myron Rolle Florida St.
I thought Brandon Graham was good value at #24. Guess not. I thought Donovan Warren was good value at #55. Guess not. I thought Ciron Black would add depth to the OL. Guess not. I thought Muckelroy was good value at #87. Guess not.
What was I supposed to put Chad Jones over Brandon Graham? TJ Ward over Donovan Warren? Reshad Jones over Ciron Black? Myron Rolle over Roddrick Muckelroy? Well that one doesn’t matter because you got Myron Rolle anyway in round 4.

Except for Taylor Mays (I wish people would stop having the Seahawks pick him because of his USC/Seattle connections)
and the 7th round pick of a guy from SD State instead of UW’s Daniel Teo Nesheim, I like the Seahawks’ Draft. Trent Williams at 40? Sure I’ll take that even though what we need is a LT, but value is value. Joe McKnight in the 4th? I’ll take that as well.
So you are tired of USC/Carroll connection yet would rather have a UW player instead of South Dakota St.?
I have Danny Batten rated higher than Nesheim, from what I read Carroll loves Mays, Seattles scouts don’t but Carroll does and ultimately Carroll will win out. Former college coaches do tend to take their own when moving to the NFL, will he do it this early? I don’t know but maybe the love for Mays is too much.
McShay, Todd McShay you hear me boy? It's me TJ and I'm coming for your damn job boy! Oh be scared, be very scared McShay.
All good points, but Carroll also said in his press conference that he felt that USC players
were generally taken higher than he expected (which strikes me as a weird thing for a coach to say).
As for USC, I think he’ll like his own players, but he’ll probably like Pac 10 players more as well because he’s familiar with them.
I was leaning towards the familiarity, also this is the season of smokescreens could he be saying USC players are taken too high because he wants them? Maybe he is talking about Charles Brown hoping he falls to #40?

is that he’s had 20+ Sacks/TFLs in each of the past three years. The rest of the D-Line is nothing to write home about, so that’s pretty impressive.
I actually tend to think they are even, however NFL Draft scout has Lawrence as the #5 Kicker and undrafted free agent while Swenson is the #2 kicker and 7th round grade. Draft countdown has Lawrence as the #4 kicker and Swenson as the #3. Walterfootball has Swenson as the #2 kicker and Lawrence as #3. ESPN has Swenson as the #1 kicker and Lawrence as #9.
With all that said I do think they are even and by looking at those rankings we would both be wrong because most of the time Aaron Pettrey from Ohio St. is ranked ahead of both of them.

Other than the 1rst pick,
This draft is awful for Dallas. You do not address any of out needs except OT. We do NOT need DE’s! There are 6 on the roster and only Spears is a RFA. Give Dallas Nate Allen in the 2nd. He is a huge upgrade over Hamlin. 3rd round give Dallas John Jerry OG from Ole miss. In the 4th round give Dallas LeGarrette Blount because I believe MBIIIs days are numbered. 6th round give Dallas Brandon Deaderick, that is a value pick for DE depth. In the 7th round give Dallas the best KR on the board.
How are you going to say I did not address the needs? You ask for a guard and DE and a safety. I gave you a guard yes maybe the 7th round is too late, I gave you a DE, ok maybe the 2nd is too early, I gave you a safety in round 4.
You are really going to say it’s awful and that I didn’t address any needs except OT and you say
We do NOT need DE’s
Yet you ask for a DE?
Yes this is an awful draft yet you ask for a guard and I gave you one, you ask for a DE and I gave you one and you ask for a safety and I gave you one.
Ok I gave you a kicker instead of a RB. I didn’t think RB was a need. I guess I gave a WR without kick returner ability. That’s the only difference. Does it make it that damn awful that I didn’t give you a kick returner and a RB?
So I’m guessing what makes it so “awful” is that the order of positions is out of wack.? To me that doesn’t make it awful though.

Also, I thought Jerry was a 2nd rounder? You told me I must have not watched practices because I said he wasn’t a 2nd rounder yet you want him in the 3rd? Plus you didn’t have him in the 2nd round of you “post senior bowl” mock.
How are you going dog someone and then not do it yourself?

Jerry is 2nd round talent
But in your mock he is available in the 3rd so why over pay? DE is not a need, but there is value in the 6th round. That is a BPA pick not a need pick and giving us our needs in the last half of the draft is the SAME as not addressing them. That would be like me doing a mock and only giving the Eagles a De in the 5th,and a S in the 6th.
Jerry is available in your mock in the 3rd as well.
Of all the mocks I’ve done here Ive always had a DE going to Dallas in the first three rounds and this is the first I’ve been told not to do it. Quincyyyyy never had a problem with it.

Thanks for the input I do appreciate it. Seriously I do. I can handle criticism for missing picks and what not, but don’t say it’s awful, if’s freaking 7 rounds there are bound to be mistakes and it takes balls to put one out there.

I agree
Props for the 7 rounder, and I would never bust on the late round picks.
As for Quincyyyyy never having a problem with it, I can not answer because we have 4 DE on the roster and none of the are UFA. We also have a kid on the practice squad that the coaching staff is pretty high on. The interior of the offensive line is the priority. If I was Jerry and had control I would trade up to make sure we get Iupati and then do what I had to to get John Jerry or Maurkice Pouncey.
Cardinals
Could really end up something like this. Names might change but all the picks hit needs and in a reasonable order too.
soooo for the raiders
no MLB, DT, CB
and you picked a C, QB, WR, DE, and ATH
the OT i can live with but
i cant believe u really picked that crap
we traded last year for a decent center
you even said jamarcus needed weapons, i didnt know a QB was a weapon
WE PICKED 3 DE LAST YEAR
didnt we take 2 WR last year, plus have a shitload at depth
i dont even care about the ATH
no wait u know what ur talking about
Feel free to post your own since you are an expert on Al Davis. That is something I will never claim to be. Hell Al Davis never surprises you, you knew Mike Mitchell was coming didn’t you!
I gave you a MLB in round 7, yes I neglected CB and DT. Reggie Carter is a MLB from UCLA so I gave you one.
Matt Tennant can play guard as well as center, his primary position is center so that is why I listed him as one.
How did you draft 3 DE last year? You drafted one in Matt Shaughnessy last year. Where are the other two.
Jarrett Brown seems like an Al Davis pick he has a good arm and Al wants to go vertical plus Jarrett Brown has good speed, he’s going to run in the high 4.5s or low 4.6s.
Yes you guys have depth at WR but it doesn’t mean it’s any good, Taylor Price is another guy that fits with his speed and with some teams considering him a top 60 pick I could see Al Davis making the pick.
Where did I ever say I know what I was talking about? Welcome to the NFL Draft where everyone will be wrong AT LEAST 65% time…….AT LEAST.
SInce you are so pissed about a WR, please let me teach you your Al Davis WR history.
2009 drafted 2
2008 drafted 2
2007 drafted 2
2006 drafted 1
2004 drafted 2
2003 drafted 2
Wow is it really out of the question he could take a WR? That is 11 in 7 years.
Since apparently you know what you are talking about, and all I do is give you CRAP. Please tell me what to change, under this scenario who would Al Davis pick, since you are the expert in Al Davis thinking.
Please tell me how to fix it, and I’ll remember it come draft time, that way I can say you don’t know what you’re talking about!
McShay, Todd McShay you hear me boy? It's me TJ and I'm coming for your damn job boy! Oh be scared, be very scared McShay.
man looks like someone got butthurt
for the DE question slade norris is on injured reserve and sulak stryker sucked so he got cut
didnt we trade a first round pick for richard seymour and pick up greg ellis?
wait ur the expert u can answer that question
yea he picked 11 WR in 7 years. THATS THE PROBLEM
who said our WR depth wasnt any good?
they are young, give it time son
see i woulda picked
1. Rolando McClain
2. Terrence Cody (hopefuolly he falls that far)
3. Selvish Capers
3. Dominique Franks
4. Dan LeFevour (incase we cut russell and my dreams come true)
5. Sam Young
7. Walter Thurmond

Where have I ever claimed to be an expert? I’m not at all butthurt, I just don’t like when people criticize mocks over and over again yet don’t provide their own. I love learning so I look forward to hearing from teams fans.
As for the DE question, Slade Norris was moved to LB, and if Sulak is no longer on the roster than why bring him up? So a reason they won’t take a DE is because they drafted three last year? One which was moved to LB and one who was cut? That means they shouldn’t go DE?
Yes you traded for Seymour and guess what he’s a free agent. Will he resign? I don’t know.
No one said there depth is good, I simply said it isn’t, yet you say no WR because of the depth.
Shaun Bodiford 1 career catch in 4 years
Yamon Figurs 3 career catches in 3 years (more of a return guy though)
Johnnie Lee Higgins 28 catches in 3 years
Paul Hubbard 0 catches in 2 years
Nick Miller didn’t play last year due to injury
Todd Watkins 0 catches in 4 years
Javon Walker just isn’t the same guy
Louis Murphy and Chaz Schilens look promising.
Yeah they very well could go WR.
Asked who would you have taken under this scenario
McClain is gone
Cody is gone
Thurmond is gone
LeFevour isn’t a good fit for Oakland, Al Davis wants to go vertical that isn’t really LeFevour’s game. LeFevour is a better fit for a west coast system.

if McClain is gone i would trade down
pick up terrenece cody
and brandon spikes
problem solved
thurmond i really dont care about, i could replace him with someone else
you forgot heyward bey lol, u pretty much showed me we dont need any WR, good job
by raiderfan4life on Feb 7, 2010 2:31 AM EST up reply actions
I don’t do trades in my mock, they are nearly impossible to pull off, plus fans would be going nuts that their team wouldn’t do that. So no problem is not solved.
How did I show you you don’t need any WR? You really tell people we don’t need any WRs we have Nick Miller, Todd Watkins, and Paul Hubbard? That is laughable.
You have two that look promising in Murphy and Schilens. A big question mark in Heyward-Bey. The other 7 are nothing special at all, who knows how many of them make it through camp.
It’s a WR, it’s not like I gave you guys a true RB, which you guys don’t need. It’s a WR which in my eyes you could use. Besides Schilens/Murphy/Walker that WR group has a career 41 catches by a total of 6 guys.
Plus these mocks aren’t about what YOU would do, it’s what would Al Davis do. That is something no one knows.
You have pretty much done nothing to change my mind, good job.
McShay, Todd McShay you hear me boy? It's me TJ and I'm coming for your damn job boy! Oh be scared, be very scared McShay.
if you looked at the WRs u would realize we got 3 of them after the season was over, so they really dont count in my book
murphy, schilens, heyward bey, higgins are all young plus the other ones.
once again,
THEY ARE YOUNG!
we dont need another young WR, when like u said we have 7
i really dont get how you dont realize this
by raiderfan4life on Feb 7, 2010 10:28 PM EST up reply actions
you give too much credit to Al Davis
Do you realize that the Raiders have had young WR for a number of years, yet Al Davis decides to draft one in the 1st round and one in the 4th anyway?
Al Davis WILL draft a WR (or 2) this year, cuz he has no idea what world he’s in.
Since when is Al Davis rational in his drafting? Since when did he become Scott Pioli?
Rectum? Damn near killed em!
by FreeBradshaw on Feb 7, 2010 11:03 PM EST up reply actions
How bout we just agree to disagree, when the Raiders don’t select a WR feel free to throw it in my face, if the Raiders do select one I’ll let you know.
However since apparently 7 on the roster means they won’t draft one lets think back to the 2007 Raiders team that had
William Buchanon
Ronald Curry
Carlos Francis
Doug Gabriel
Johnnie Lee Higgins
Jonathan Holland
John Madsen
Johnnie Morant
Rich Parson
Jerry Porter
Alvis Whitted
Mike Williams
Yeah that is 12 WRs on the roster going into camp heading into the 2007 season.
I still think they can go WR.

GREAT Chiefs draft
I wish a safety could have been picked earlier than the 5th, but you can’t fill every hole. In my Chiefs mock I have Mcclain and Ducasse as the first two picks as well. Pouncey, Norwood and Cam Thomas are great value picks. Why is anthony Davis going 27th overall though? He seems like a top 10 lock
No NT for the Fins?

A B for the 49ers
The Niners front office likes versatile linemen and undervalues guards. I really can’t see them picking a guard in the first unless they think he can play RT (which Iupait might be able to). If they think Iupati can (and I haven’t heard one way or the other), than yeah they definitely grab him. They like their linemen to be able to move around: the center used to play guard, the LG played center in college, the LT is a TE who converted to LT in college, the starting RT—who sucks, actually played guard and inherited the RT spot by default. You get the idea.
I like the Spiller pick, I like the Chad Jones pick. Don’t know enough about Saffold to say. I really don’t see the Niners picking up a QB at all. They’ve put their vote of confidence in Alex Smith for next year and if he falls flat on his face they have Nate Davis waiting in the wings who was a 5th round pick in the 2009 draft. I like the WR pick in round 6, as well as the DE in round 7. I don’t think we’ll take another CB though—-we have quite a bit of depth there. I suspect we end up with an OLB.
So I guess that’s 2 picks out of 8 that I disagree with and one that I’m wavering on, thus the B grade.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will probably get picked in the first round.
Very nice mock
This might be the best mock Ive seen so far, very well thought out. From the Chargers point of view the first 3 picks are solid and reasonable. Great work TJ
