Washington Redskins team needs

It was a tough season for the Washington Redskins. Anytime you finish 4-12 there is going to be a lot of changes in your team’s future. However, the Redskins have a lot of high priced players locked into several positions. This dilemma coupled with coaching changes makes their draft strategy interesting.

1. Offensive Tackle

- Injuries and poor play have made this a position the Redskins must address. Chris Samuels’s career is in serious jeopardy and Stephon Heyer is a backup at best. Will they bring back Levi Jones? This draft is light on offensive tackles but with the 4th pick there should be some good ones available.

2. Quarterback

- Can a new coach (Mike Shanahan?) turn Jason Campbell or Colt Brennan into a franchise quarterback? It is going to be an interesting offseason and where the new coaching staff sees Campbell or Brennan will determine the direction the Redskins go with their draft. Do they use the #4 pick on a quarterback or take a gamble on a 2nd round quarterback?

3. Guard

- Derrick Dockery is serviceable but the rest of the players are not the answer. A strong offensive line is important to the success of a football team. Taking a guard with the 4th pick is a waste but expect 1 or 2 of the later picks to be focused on this area.

Not really going to have a choice..

Its going to end up being Bradford if they are going to make any sort of pick at all. The Rams if they can’t manage to trade from that #1 spot (which I easily think they should given the overall value of Suh) are going to draft Claussen. There is almost no way they can suffer through another season with Bulger/Boller/Null as their starting QB.

That being said, I would expect Goodell to be announcing Jimmy Claussen as the #1 overall pick when it comes down to it in April.

I think linebacker is a more pressing need than guard

…and that quarterback isn’t really a need, but that’s because I like Jason Campbell.

As for linebacker, we need to start looking at a MLB to groom behind London Fletcher and/or a linebacker to force Orakpo to DE full-time.

The Redskins need a QB

For every woman masturbating right now, there is a guy masturbating while imagining that woman masturbate.

A good offensive game plan and a receiver not better off in the slot would do a lot for the Skins.

The help at receiver might be on the team, there is potential there. I don’t think replacing Campbell is the right choice, he’s good enough, they need to put a team around him.
