NFL Draft 2011 rankings: Inside the top 50 with Christian Ponder and Michael Floyd
Throughout the day, we're releasing our 2011 NFL Draft rankings in batches of 25. After the jump find 50-26.
Spotlight on: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
It's been a tough season for Michael Floyd. On the surface, he's fine with 28 receptions for 408 yards and two touchdowns in five games. But Floyd should no longer be mentioned in the same breath with A.J. Green, Julio Jones and Jonathan Baldwin. Floyd has shown suspect hands this season, dropping several catchable passes. He's also had fumble issues in the end zone. Floyd has also never been considered as an excellent route runner either. Still, he's a physical marvel with potential. It's hard not to have him ranked this high.

I'm sure it's already somewhere...
but I wouldn’t mind taking a look at the methodology you used – how exactly does the scoring system work? Would you be willing to share those scores?
Also – did you do this yourself? Work off something as a starting point?
It’s great work. Daunting task.
It’s not really a that scientific. There’s no scoring involved.
What I do is put together a huge bank of players. Then I decide who I think will have the best NFL future. So I basically break it up into positional rankings. Then I go through each position picking from the top down who I like most.
Mocking the Draft: Talking NFL Draft all year.
Floyd’s route running actually has been better this year. I don’t see how you can’t mention him with Jones and Baldwin. He had a much better sophomore season than them. Does that not matter at all?

when i watch Michael Floyd play
he always reminds me of a really good #2 WR in the NFL, but not a #1. i’m not sure why.
We don't need 8 in the box. We have 52 in the box.
