Rock out with your mock draft out: Shane Hallam
For those of you who don't know, Shane Hallam is a staff member at Draft Countdown with Scott Wright. Of all the hardcore solo draft guys, I never imagined Wright would let someone in on his empire. So that should speak to how good Shane is. Still, kinda weird that Shane's new mock is on the site's sickeningly popular message board and not the main part of the site.
ANYWAY.
Hallam remains a believer in Washington quarterback Jake Locker. The trend in mocks lately is to include Locker in the teens, at best. Some mock makers have excluded Locker from the first round completely. It's fine having Locker still in the first round, but Hallam has him going to San Francisco with the third overall pick. If Locker is the pick, Alex Smith is done in San Francisco. And if that's the case, do the 49ers really take a similar signal caller?
One big faller in Hallam's mock is Alabama defensive tackle/end Marcell Dareus. Pegged at pick 16 to Dallas (good fit), this is one of the furthest landing spots I've seen for Dareus this season.
Another notable choice is having Notre Dame's Michael Floyd over Pittsburgh's Jonathan Baldwin. From my viewpoint, there's nothing Floyd can do that Baldwin can't do just as well. Add to that Baldwin's superior pass catching and you have a better player.
It was also interesting to see three running backs in the first round in Mark Ingram, Ryan Williams and Mikel Leshoure. At this point, for me, Ingram is the only first-round prospect among running backs.
You can see Hallam's whole mock right here. Antagonize him on Twitter here. And remember, put a mock draft of your own in the Fan Posts. Maybe if we get enough, I'll rock my own mock.

I agree with the Packers need
but Mikel Leshoure? I dont know much about him, is he really considered somebody that would go that high?
Makes little sense
Unless they cut Peters or Justice for financial reasons. I believe both are now on long-term deals. They need inside help with all of the injuries.
Don't you guys turn OT's into Guards
Which would then make sense
I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.
They turn big brawling tackles into guards
Like Andrews and Herremans. Peters, Justice, and Costanzo – none would fit the guard mold.
Costanzo's not nearly fat enough to be picked by the Eagles.
Marcus Cannon or Brewer from Indiana fit Forklift Reid’s mold for OLs

I like the OL pick
Not all that familiar with Sherrod tho it seems he’s a possible first round pick.
The Giants rarely draft for need, and really why the OL seems in shambles they have replacements at both tackles in the wings (Shawn Andrews, Will Beatty ), LG (Mitch Petrus and possibly Diehl, tho Seubert’s been playing well) and Adam Koets looks like a starting caliber C in his first few games.
Winning cures all...even stupid
yeah, i wouldn't be overjoyed at a 1st round LB at this point
the current starters are playing well.
I think they have to go Offense this year, so a WR, QB or even an OT would be prudent there.
NT would be another solid choice if it’s the right guy
It's all about the gameplan
This draft is literally impossible.
One of the NFC West teams has to be in picks 20-32 as at least ONE of them must make the playoffs. Harder to respect a guy who makes that kind of blatant mistake.
Though they sink through the Sea, they shall rise again...Death shall have no dominion...
He said at the top
that he was using CBS Sportsline Power Rankings for his draft order & that it would be impossible for that order to actually happen. It’s an early mock, not a prediction of end of season standings
RBs
Every mock minimizes first round RBs, yet there always seem to be a bunch of them in the first, and to different teams or higher than expected (Matthews this past year). So I’ll give him credit for that.
Not convinced that the Bengals take another d-line player
I mean Dunlop is struggling to get active on game days because of the depth at the position.
Unless Brown falls in love with a player i can only see the Bengals replacing in the draft what they lose in FA (like a rb, cb or wr)
just had another look
and saw that Jonathan Baldwin WR/Pitt is still undrafted at the Bengal’s pick and i doubt that Brown would over look a playmaker WR like Baldwin

Someone has to show they got game
Odom is hurt again and your DEs only have 2 sacks. But they do need to give Johnson and Dunlop a chance.
Opinion from Dan
What’s your take on Hallam saying Buffalo likes Ponder over the rest of the QB’s?
Luck is a no-brainer. So why Ponder?
Rumor or smart speculation? Or something that’s more inside info?
Starting the official Buffalo "Draft Owen Marecic in 2011" campaign.
No offense to Shane, but I don’t think he has any inside info. So I wouldn’t think a lot of a statement like that.

I'm trying to reply to your e-mail
But having issues with my work computer and yahoo. Will get back to you soon.
Starting the official Buffalo "Draft Owen Marecic in 2011" campaign.
It said “Luck and Ponder”. Had it just said Ponder I’d be concerned.
That and what Dan said.

I'm not a fan of Powe
To me his more of a Cody type of NT, than they type we’re accustomed to. Much rather take McDaniel

I doubt that the Bucs take RB Mark Ingram,
If there’s anything of need, it is DE and hope that they go after it first. No offense to Shane, but Blount has shown somewhat well enough to be a Brandon Jacobs (2008?) and Huggins has good speed as a change of pace back for Blount. I truly believe this season that the Bucs FO is going to be evaluating these two backs and their respective futures.
And again, I might be wrong.
Honestly ain't I insane I think that's the way I gotta be
Ain't I so so supafly boy ain't nobody hot as me.
