Current NFL Draft top 10 order

With Buffalo's first win of the season on Sunday, the Bills no longer hold the top pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Below is the top 10 with opponent's win percentage in parenthesis.

That adds another element of intrigue. Would Carolina use the top pick on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck if he entered?

If teams have the same record and opponent win percentage, the team with the worse divisional record gets the higher selection. If they have the same divisional record, the team with the worse conference record gets the higher selection. If everything is equal, a coin is flipped.

1. CAROLINA - 1-8 (.556)
2. BUFFALO - 1-8 (.580)
3. DETROIT - 2-7 (.532)
4. DALLAS - 2-7 (.562)
5. CINCINNATI - 2-7 (.580)
6. SAN FRANCISCO - 3-6 (.512)
7. MINNESOTA - 3-6 (.543)
8. ARIZONA - 3-6 (.556)
9. DENVER - 3-6 (.580)
10. CLEVELAND - 3-6 (.641)

There's going to be a house cleaning in Carolina

As a result, I could easily see them jumping on Luck.

how do you feel about John Fox?

is he bad coach? or just got screwed.

He is a great coach but his time is due,

I liked his defense background and emphasis on the run game. Run the ball and stop the run is his liking.
He can’t coach/do/whatever consistency at all though.
After so long you just want a change, even though i will miss his Foxisms (He is a master at saying nothing, ex. player with broken leg “He is day to day” or after getting ass beat “We just didn’t execute our gameplan right”.

But as for HC next year look at our DC Ron Meeks or maybe Denver OC Mike McCoy who was our QB coach when we had Delhomme, and is well liked in the organization.

OK great

Because some Houston fans have said that John Fox would be a great coach for the Texans next season.

Many here in the Carolinas want Dom Capers back,

But i just don’t see that panning out at all given our personnel.

And as for Fox as your HC expect the entire draft to be on D then.

Oh and he won't start rookies unless he has too

He will stick to veterans even if they are throwing 3 interceptions a game

Browns.

I’ve been really impressed by the Browns this year and I’ll gladly eat crow on that account; congrats, Cleveland, you deserved some good news!

Denver has a chance to make the West interesting.

If they can build off of this weekend, they wont be a top 10 pick, and could make a push for the West, a divison where 9-7 could potentially win it.

If not, all I’m gonna say as a homer is they’ll draft top 10 and hopefully pick up a stud DL

Why wouldn’t the Panthers take Andrew Luck? Especially if they get a new coach.

Best Player in the draft

If you have the first pick, you take the highest rated player regardless of position. Too often, teams reach for need. You think the Raiders wish they would have taken Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas in 2007?

by Fivus Viener on Nov 16, 2010 9:37 AM EST reply actions

I think Carolina takes Luck

Regardless of what we, the fans, think of Jimmy Clausen, 31 NFL teams passed on him, some twice over. So, in 31 or 32 draft rooms, Clausen wasn’t considered a future franchise quarterback. That’s not to say he won’t be. It’s pretty obvious that Clausen was rated drastically higher by fans than GM’s and scouts.

Comparing Luck to Clausen is a no-brainer. Luck has any-year first overall pick qualities. Clausen did not.

I'd be doing this differently

I really think you’d get a more accurate look at where teams may finish by looking at the combined record of all teams each of them plays including games yet to be played. By doing that, Buffalo and Carolina would be going to the coin flip.

by Stephen Schmidt on Nov 16, 2010 4:57 PM EST reply actions

Afterward I did and Buffalo would have the first pick. Their opponents would have a .556 win percentage while Carolina’s would have a .580.

You have Detroit down as 1-8 for Buffalo though

At this point both Buffalo and Carolina have 82-62 opponents records. Being in different conferences, the only applicable tiebreaker here would be the coin flip.
