Miami officials believe Brandon Harris is going pro
An AFC scout told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald that the University of Miami expects junior cornerback Brandon Harris to turn pro. The scout also told Jackson that defensive lineman Allen Bailey has first-round talent.
Harris has blossomed this season into Miami's best player. On the year, Harris has 37 tackles, eight pass breakups and an interception. For his career, Harris has 26 pass breakups and four interceptions.
Harris should project somewhere in the middle of the first round as a prospect. He plays in man coverage for the Hurricanes, and is best when he can play off his receiver. Harris has excellent recovery speed and foot quickness. He's a fundamentally sound corner but lacks strength and can has trouble with bigger receivers.
Harris is a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.
