Wednesday NFL Draft watch notes
With three games today, highlighted by the Alamo Bowl, here's a look at some players to watch.
Military Bowl - East Carolina vs. Maryland 2:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Maryland junior wide receiver Torrey Smith has already made his intentions known that he'll enter the NFL Draft. Terrapins free safety Kenny Tate may do the same after tonight. In a weak safety class, the playmaking Tate could go in the second round.
Another Terrapin to watch is middle linebacker Alex Wujciak. He's a stat-stuffing linebacker that could provide solid depth in the NFL.
Some are getting high on East Carolina wide receiver Dwayne Harris. The senior enters today's game with 93 receptions for 1,055 yards and 10 touchdowns. He fits the mold of a good depth receiver with decent size at 6-foot and 205 pounds.
Texas Bowl - Illinois vs. Baylor - 6 p.m. (ESPN)
The Texas Bowl features two solid, but very different, defensive tackles. For Baylor, Phil Taylor is one of the few natural nose tackles in the 2011 draft. Effort and weight issues will concern some teams, but a team filling needs could pick him in third round. Illinois' Corey Liuget is a gap-shooting tackle who should probably return for his senior season.
One junior that may come out for Illinois is middle linebacker Martez Wilson. He's been healthy all year and has shown he can make plays against the run and the pass. Past health concerns may force him to jump to the draft early.
Baylor offensive tackle Danny Watkins has developed into one of the better senior offensive linemen this season. He's surprisingly good on the move and projects as a left tackle.
Alamo Bowl - Oklahoma State vs. Arizona - 9:15 p.m. (ESPN)
The scouting emphasis in this bowl is on underclassmen wide receivers Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State) and Juron Criner (Arizona). There has bee speculation that both will enter the draft. Blackmon is having a sensational season, but isn't quite as good as former Cowboy Dez Bryant. Criner is a big target and a security blanket for quarterback Nick Foles.
Foles said earlier this month that he'll be back for his senior season. Of course if Andrew Luck and Blaine Gabbert decide to return as well, he could change his mind.
Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter has had a productive season season with 1,516 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns. He's a good option as a late-round rotation running back.

Is Kendall Hunter similar to Ahmad Bradshaw?

sorta. I think a better comparison for Bradshaw to a prospect is a guy like Allen Bradford

How? Bradford is big and kind of slow. Bradshaw is small and quick.
Mocking the Draft: Talking NFL Draft all year.
Im saying it in more of there running styles.
At least in my mind I see Bradshaw as someone who likes to smash up the middle a lot and fight for the yards (maybe jacobs would work better idk haven’t looked). Bradford isn’t the fastest but has good speed and agility also is big and plays the same style of smash mouth football.

Hunter probably has only size in comparison to Bradshaw
the back I see that compares most to Bradshaw is Trent Richardson, tho he’s got AB by about 30lbs, has some more speed and doesn’t juke his way into 10 yard gains when there’s 30 to be had.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
I would if I was him. I think he might be the best back in the draft.

LeShoure
184 yards and 3 TDs yesterday. I think he ends up going in round one. New England and Miami could be possible destinations.

He’d fit perfectly on the jets.

I think St Louis also will address their RB situation. Jackson is still solid but next year will be his 8th in the league. That is ancient for a running back.

Blackmon
Looked terrific as expected but I hated that running along the goal line crap on his first TD. I am sure there will be talk next spring about character concerns with him. The kid might be a clown and some teams don’t want to deal with that.
