Danario Alexander to miss combine

According to Tony Pauline of Sports Illustrated, Missouri wide receiver Danario Alexander had knee surgery on Tuesday. Alexander won't be able to participate in next week's NFL Scouting Combine, but wants to be ready for Missouri's March 4 pro day.

Will Spencer of NFL Draft Breakdown spoke with Alexander today and said the surgery was only a scope "to clean out some cartilage." Some places are reporting that Alexander suffered the injury during Senior Bowl practice last month, but those are incorrect. The injury he sustained in Mobile was a hamstring pull.

Alexander has a serious history of injuries, including three previous surgeries on his knee and wrist surgery.

However, Alexander still led the nation in receiving yards in 2009 with 1,644 and yards per game at 137 per contest. He was second nationally with 107 catches.

Alexander is the second wide receiver in as many days to suffer a medical setback. On Wednesday, Georgia Tech's Demaryius Thomas broke his foot.

mark my words

if he falls he will be the steal of the draft. He has the speed, size, and hands to be great.

I really like him too. I don’t know if he has the speed, though. I’ve heard he’s timed at 4.68. But I think that’s fine. He’ll be a late 4th sometime in the 5th round steal.

if they are smart... Freddie Barnes

but, we’ll see

* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* Pioli will make at least one trade in the offseason, and 2 trades during the draft
* I'd prefer "lightning and lightning" as opposed to "lightning and thunder" when it comes to RBs
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters

Barnes is another sleeper to watch for

2009 NY Phin PhansFantasy League Champion
2009 Best Regular Season Record in NYPPL.
2010 The Jim Mandich NewsFlash Award Winner.

Off the top of my head, I want to say they don’t do injury replacements, but I might be wrong.
