Houston Texans team needs

The Houston Texans were again very close to the playoffs but in this league close doesn’t cut it. The Texans have done a good job acquiring talent and now it’s time they put it all together and make a playoff run. To make a playoff run they will need to address a few positions.

1. Cornerback

- Losing Dunta Robinson will hurt and filling his void should be top priority. Adding depth to this position is also a need to look for the Texans to select more than one cornerback during this draft. Some first round options include Devin McCourty, Kyle Wilson, and Kareem Jackson.

2. Running Back

- Steve Slaton’s slump is cause for concern and Arian Foster and Ryan Moats are not starting caliber running backs. The Texans need to find a productive power runner to compliment Slaton’s speed and pass catching ability. First round options include Ryan Matthews. Later round options include Jonathan Dwyer and Toby Gerhart.

3. Safety

- When John Busing is starting games you know you need an infusion of talent. I think both talent and depth is a must at this position. Bernard Pollard was a good mid season addition and they need to find a compliment to his stop the run first mentality. First round options include Earl Thomas. Later round options include Nate Allen and Morgan Burnett.

What about Defensive Tackle? Shaun Cody is not an NFL calibre DT. IMO.

Odrick or Brian Price may be available around the #20 spot. Or would they choose to wait for second or third round prospects like Lamarr Houston, Arthur Jones, Tyson Alualu, Geno Atkins, or Cam Thomas?

Are there any Texan fans who would share their thoughts?

there are lots of ppl.

calling for the texans to go DT in round 1 with price, williams, or cody

i dont mind that…we can really go anywhere from S, CB, OL, DT in the first round

Later round options include Jonathan Dwyer

Later round? Are you expecting to fall out of the 2nd and 3rd round?

Texans fan here...

I’m looking for CB or S in the first. I could only wish Spiller would still be on the board. Thats not going to happen but I think he would fit in very nice with the Texans offense.

Needs for the Texans

OL >>>>> RB

You know, so there are actually some holes to run through….and no, the hole left where Kris Jenkins destroyed our starting center does not count.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
