Mock round one (moving based on signings)
It is after midnight here but I felt i needed to get a start on editing my mock so hiere it is. There will probably be more changes once i actually have time to look at all the players that have moved that would affect this. So in the mean time feel free to kill me or instead make my job easier and let me know of moves your team has made in the FA market.

This is the only situation i see us taking Berry.
I don’t like the thought of taking OT but i believe Pioli wants that position upgraded. If Bulaga and Okung are both gone then Berry has to be the choice unless a trade back is possible. I suppose Pioli could reach for Dan Williams seeing as how Williams is projected at 11 or 12 by almost everyone. Not as much of a reach as Tyson Jackson was.
The first 3 picks of the draft will be defense. Pioli loves him some defense.
i honestly dont' believe Pioli will draft an OT at #5
I could see him reaching for NT(Williams), or even LB (McClain)
I’m hoping for Berry, but it’s hard to tell what “the Don” will do… Jackson was a surprise last year, but that pick is an indicator…
Pioli WILL take HIS guy, regardless of “reach” or “positional value”
So, IF he LOVES Berry or McClain, he’ll take em… if not… he’ll reach for a player he does like.
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
* keep Albert at LT, upgrade the positions that NEED upgrading.C, RG, NT, S, LB
Good Jags pick Angel

My thoughts
I think Kyle Wilson is a bit of a reach at 16, but I suppose they’re going need there..
Ik Boldin and Stallworth aren’t exactly young, but I think it’ll be another year or two before the Ravens need to draft a marquee wide receiver. They’ll probably go in the direction of someone who can make an impat right away on defense and make a run at the SB.
I like Odrick over Price, but that’s a small deal..overall great mock!
Yea Titans are going need there and my pick was influenced by some fans of the team

I can't disagree with the Eagles pick
I personally wouldn’t like it, but it is right in line with how Andy would most likely draft.
I got a few remarks/questions though.
I am wondering why everybody has Seattle taking a QB. Not saying that they don’t need one, they do for sure, but I would think OT is there biggest need. Walter Jones is done and with a little bit of protection Hasslebeck can still get the job done for another 2 years. I know with anew coach a big splashy move like QB makes sense to quell the masses, but if they got a OT first like Williams or Davis, who are both way better then brown, looking at the teams afterward they would still be able to get Clausen. The only obstacle to that, that could be possible is Buffalo, but their Tackle spot is wrecked and (I pray for this every night) their acquisition of Vick from us should let them draft McCoy later.
The Bulaga pick is spot on for the Skins. My one friend who knows absolutely everything to know about this team (he has without fail for the last 6 years picked their 1st round draft pick correctly, and probably has an overall 80percent correct rate when it comes to their drafts) said even if Okung was still there, they would still draft Bulaga. Okung is a mauler but for Shanahans zone blocking Bulaga is the perfect fit. Good call on that one.
The Ravens fans already told you their doubts with Bryant.
I’m guessing Houston takes another OLB because there is no more worthy DB’s on the board?
I’m still confused about Spiller to SF. I would think they would address OLine or take Price first. You probably have a better grasp on their situation then I do though.
The NYG and Dallas picks work for me. I am trying to figure out who they are going to take, so I can start hating them as soon as possible.
Overall very good draft. Can’t wait to see your next update.

right now ill make two points about yours
Seattle is in a unique situation where they have 2 picks out of the to- 14. I see both the top 2 QB’s gone by there second pick so i think they go there first. With the depth in O line talent I see that is first round worthy they will easily still at 14 have a few pretty good lineman to choose from and is why id do it in that order.
For the niners i went running back with there second pick as I don’t have the confidence in who they have now and them being nicked up constantly. They also have two picks closely and I agree they need OL. I took a OL man with there first pick and doubt they take two..

I agree with the two picks for the Niners. What I would be happy with is if the Niners tried to package the 13th with another pick and try to move up to get Berry, but I don’t see that happening and I would also like to see them trade the 17th for 2nd and 3rd round picks. I like the talent in the 2nd and 3rd rounds better then the talent that would be available at their 1st round picks. Not overall talent necessarily but I like the value better.
Wow, most teams would die to upgrade positions this early.
You have the opportunity to pick up two quality starters for your team. A much needed tackle and anything else you want. Safety? Take Thomas or Mays. RB? Take Spiller.
DE? Morgan. More picks are nice but this is a real opportunity to improve the team to a Divisional winner status.
Winning is not everything but it sure feels like it sometimes
by lifelongvike on Mar 10, 2010 2:15 PM EST up reply actions
I see what your saying but where the Niners are at any of their needs will be a reach. Spiller at 17th not so much but how this draft played out I would much rather trade the 13th. The top tackles are gone and I’m not that high on Davis so that is a reach. If Thomas is there I would be happy to take him but he’s not and I really don’t like Mays especially since the Niners’ corners are run stoppers and have trouble covering deep threats and that is what Mays is lacking. As for Spiller, the Niners don’t need a RB that much they need more a a KR/PR so that would make Spiller a role player not a starter and I don’t want to draft a role player with the 17th pick. Since this draft is deep at the Niners’ positional needs I would rather they trade back.
Well OK. I see your point also.
I like Anthony Davis because he is a Left tackle and a run blocker first. He can play the right side as well ( a 49er need) and the guard positions. I have not seen him ranked below 17th of the BPA list. Now I would think Singletary would like these skills and if your team improves you won’t be picking 13 and 17 again for awhile. Left tackles are hard to find in the lower half of the draft. Just ask Green Bay.
The 17th selection is such a luxury pick. Best RB in the draft. When do you think that opportunity will come along again? Best ILB available. 2nd best CB available. Next best safety even if you don’t like Mays is available. Your theory is that 2nd and 3rd rounders will be starters or almost as good as first rounders. That IMO is a much bigger risk than taking the athletically gifted players that are available to you at #17. But I respect your opinion.
But if you want to move down call the Vikings. We might like to pick in the top half sometime.

Seattle's QB
Talon, in addition to the points already raised Matt Hasselbeck only has one more year left on his contract. I hope and believe that they’ll draft a QB at 6 unless team leadership decides that Clausen (or Bradford, should he be available) is not capable of being a franchise QB.
Bryant still goes to Ravens with Boldin?

We might not be bringing Mason back and have to eventually find a replacement for him even if he does come back. Would it even be fair to the league to have Boldin and Bryant next to eachother with Ray Rice in the backfield? I feel bad for the 16 teams we have to play next year.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
agree and if I didn't give you Bryant id probably go TE which I have thought about.

Only guy worth taking would be Gresham, and he is sort of a reach. We gotta see his pro day first before determining if he is a first round pick. Don’t shy away from DE or LB here either.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
agree Gresham would be the first TE to go and be the one id give you if i did.

Hate seeing Price to a 3-4 team
it might work but it’d be a waste. He’s a gap shooter, you’ve gotta let him be free as a 4-3 UT.
Don’t really think Kindle is a 4-3 LB, maybe a SAM, but they have Cushing for that who was great when he wasn’t trying to cover Dallas Clark.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
Depends what type of 3-4 he goes to.
I think Price could do pretty well in Dallas’s system if needed since Phillips runs a one-gap 3-4 that looks for that ability to shoot the gap like Jay Ratliff.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

didn't know that
are there many other teams running a 3-4 like that? Not really a 3-4 guy (love that 4-3 Tampa-2)

I believe the Chargers use a similar system.
Just to clarify though, I am not saying that Dallas will seriously want Brian Price. I do think he could probably be worked into a DE/DT role for us, but we do have more pressing needs that likely preclude us from looking his way.

No matter how fast Mays ran at the combine he still isn't a first roundd pick
Iupati would be the pick
I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.
really? i am sorta turned away from lupati and like mays. I think saftey is a need for you and Earl was gone when I updated it.

Steelers
They resigned Clark and Allen from TB as a backup.
We still need Clark's heir
And he needs to be able to make plays if Troy’s out.
I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.
I like Graham for the Vikings.
Griffen or Odrick would also work. Some have said that Graham would have to back up Jared Allen on the right side. I can’t quite figure out why his frame doesn’t allow him to play the left end spot. Any insight into that one? I just think he is a football player and will work for anybody.
Winning is not everything but it sure feels like it sometimes
too short
Graham would be the shortest left end in the league. The left end lines up across from the right tackle and often the tight end on running plays, so they need to be able to hold their ground on run blocks. Graham is more of a speed guy. The left and right positions are different mindsets.
Mathis is a small LDE. It works for Indy’s system, but everyone else looks for larger guys.
Graham
is a motor player, not really an edge rusher. His best fit is LDE in a 4-3 scheme. Because he is short and not a long player, he can’t hit the edge as well against LT’s, their range is too great for him. Against RT’s, he can bull rush, edge rush, pretty much anything he knows how to do. He is pretty solid against the run, despite his size, he is very hard to move off of the ball. He’s hard to get under.
Jake Delhomme, QB Carolina Panthers, 2003-2009.

Wouldnt mind Dan Williams
But since we just signed 3 DL, I think we will wait to address the DL later in the draft. Right now, I think the priority is either McClain, or in ur mock, Dan Williams. I believe tho in this situation they’ll draft Dan Williams or move down for a G or C.
oh ok so you do like the pick lol

Great Job
With that board I think the Chargers would take Best. You seem to be pushing some of the DBs and OTs up your board, which imo will prove to be accurate.
This has to be the best mock Ive seen so far. Im so tired of people mocking the Bengals reaching for a TE at 21.
If I may be a little critical. The Jags pick I dont like. They would take Williams imo. Which may tempt Denver into taking McClain.
Great Job
