With the 1st pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, The St. Louis Rams select...... Kong Suh, DT, Nebraska!!!!!
DRAFT METHOD:
1. I will announce which team is on the clock with the following comment: THE ST. LOUIS RAMS ARE NOW ON THE CLOCK!! ...After this message, you will have 5 minutes to make your selection.
2. Your selection MUST appear as this in the subject line: WITH THE 33RD PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE (TEAM) SELECT (PLAYER NAME) , (POSITION) ,(SCHOOL). Please use all caps so your pick will stand out.
3. For the first 2 rounds we want you to provide your reasoning for your pick and this will be emailed to JP23 (JPYanes@yahoo(dot)com) PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SUBJECT LINE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN PICKS. Depending on what happens with the first 6 or 7 picks the Bills might be interested in trading down in the first round with a late pick.

hmmm, is this a different between what you think should be done, and what you think the FO will do?
Because some Lions fans get rather pissy with Okung at #2 and with passing on Oher for Pettigrew last year I think they have a leg to stand on as far as the FOs belief in Backus goes.

you all know my opinion
Why Suh will be a BUST
by durst on Feb 13, 2010 9:28 AM PST 40 comments
Ok, actually I dont think he will be a bust, but with such high expectations he could be a major disappointment.
You say Suh is the best DT to come out in the last 10 years?? better hope its the last 20, if Suh is drafted with the number one pick, he will be just the 7th DT drafted first overall since 1936 , and the first since 1994= Dan Wilkinson
2nd if Suh is drafted with the first pick, he will be the 2nd HIGHEST PAID DT in the league after Albert Haynesworth, who is listed as 6’6 and 350 vs Suh 6’4 305, Suh wont throw around 320 pound NFL guards and centers like he did at nebraska, or like Haynesworth does now.
3rd much like Mario Williams was thought to be a major mistake until both Reggie Bush and Vince Young’s failures, if EITHER QB Bradford or Clausen becomes the next Joe Montana, it wont matter if Suh becomes the next Reggie White, he will be considered a mistake.
4th I see 5 DTs (Suh, McCoy, B. Price, D. Williams, Cody) plus college DT likely moves to NFL 3-4 DE (Odrick) all drafted in the 1st round. With alot of value in the later rounds (Arthur Jones, Lamarr Houston, Tyson Alualu, ect) the point being four years from now there will be alot of competition for who is the BEST DT to come out of this years draft class, and certainly McCoy and someone COULD end up being better Pros, even if Suh was better in college.
Reminds me of the 1983 quarterback draft class. Elway is a Hall of Famer taken 1st overall. Marino was taken late in the 1st and is also a Hall of Famer. In between came some other quarterbacks. One was Tony Eason who led his team to an AFC Championship.
by medicineball on Mar 13, 2010 12:24 PM EST up reply actions
Jim Kelly is a Hall of Famer too. I just forgot he was in that class.

In this case that is a possibility but I think that a QB would be taken first and then OT since they are deep there (the draft is)

Okung was gone, and I wasn’t going to get a good pick in a trade. In my opinion, LT is a far, far greater need than QB. We have absolutely noone at LT, and Campbell is a good QB.
Good pick. Tough call with Okung gone, but Bulaga fills the need.

WITH THE 5TH PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SELECT ERIC BERRY, SAFETY, TENNESSEE
The first 3 picks of the draft will be defense. Pioli loves him some defense.
I wonder if Pioli will actually do that?
I’d think he wants to complete that front 3. Maybe he reaches for Dan Williams like they did with Tyson Jackson

by FreeBradshaw on Mar 13, 2010 12:51 PM EST up reply actions
Pioli probably reaches and as much as i’d like to make a stunning pick Berry is simply too good to pass up at 5. He is a the top talent in this draft and although i would have liked to trade down and still fill a need no trades were available.
I believe in Pioli’s mind our big board in the 1st will be: Okung>Bulaga> Dan Williams> McClain

Mocking Dan’s BPA list
McClain
Spiller
Bradford
Haden
Thomas
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
Based on that list, it should be Haden. Their linebacking corps could use McClain, but the secondary is just a shambles

based on that list, don’t you take top of it? personally id take bradford but – i think that means McClain
Depends on if the idea is to go BPA or look at the BPA list and decide which of those guys the Browns could use most

If the Raiders were picking at 18 or 28 rather than 8, I’d go Campbell. But not top 10.
Williams can push Mario Henderson at left tackle and at the least can make a damn good right tackle. He also has more experience than Campbell.

Great pick UZ
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
Thanks man. I hesitated for a second, but since it looks like the Bills aren’t getting a QB in free agency I pretty much had to go for Bradford.

haha, get used to hesitating and second guessing. I drove myself crazy when I did the last 7 rounder and it only gets tougher after the first few rounds. I’m sure you’ll do us proud though. And then I’m sure you’ll post the results on Rumblings only to have most people think you’re crazy.

I’m going to hear the riot act just for drafting a QB not named “Tebow” I’m sure. Ha.

I thought that was just 1 dude who wanted Locker so badly he was requesting we just skip QB this draft.

Damn!!! My internet went down for a couple of hours. I did not expect Bradford to fall to us. Great pick.

Anyone else think that if Bradford, Bulaga, and Okung are all taken, the Bills might draft Iupati? Just wondering.

Eh, Dan Williams is a LOT more likely. Or Anthony Davis.

what about McClain any interest in him from the Bills?

Before the switch to the 3-4, I would have jumped at the chance to get McClain, but now that they have such a hole at NT, he was like 8th on my BPA list.

The Bills have some good linebackers right now.
by medicineball on Mar 13, 2010 1:22 PM EST up reply actions
The Vikings could use Posluszny. He made 109 tackles last year or something.
by medicineball on Mar 13, 2010 1:26 PM EST up reply actions
That’s only because the line was so bad that he had to make the tackle on every play because the line never stopped the RB.
KA-ZING!

Lol. The Bills keep developing good defensive players and then other teams get them (Antoine Winfield, Pat Williams). Of course, it looks like now the opposite will happen with Jimmy Kennedy. That was more of a career revival.

If Bardford had gone to the Rams, would you have picked Clausen? Just curious.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong.

Yes. In fact I’m disappointed that the Hawks autopicked him, I like him more than Bradford. Basically if there was a QB I was going to take him.

okay, good. I’m doing a mock where I’m in charge of all the odd-numbered picks and I picked Bradford for the Rams and Clausen for the Bills.

You can draft Juice Williams if you want as long as he’ll be a franchise QB for the Bills, at this point! :)

I asked about him above (and in another thread)
passable starter, great backup? that’s the impression I’ve gotten.

Big injury. That is about what he has been. He made a name for himself holding James Harrison the last 3 years. Was a former 2nd round pick, but shouldn’t be a starter. Just got get Gaither, looks like the Colts have been going back to their Baltimore roots with all these Ravens signings.

By the way, this is the second time the Jags rep has disappeared and I’m here critiquing or defending the pick made. Now I’m not saying, I’m just saying.
