Brandon Spikes is tolerable in round 2

I like it. (rather have Nate Allen tho..)

Oh..

Actually, Spikes just finished his 40 today.

40 time is irrelevant for a MLB…up to a point. 5.03 is disgusting.

I wouldn’t draft Spikes at all. I don’t want to see Antonio Pierce part 2 getting burned by fullbacks….

The Houston Picks

Odrick at 20 is a huge reach with Price on the board. If the Texans are reaching it’ll be for a CB like McCourty.

They also would draft Hardesty over Dwyer. Hardesty fits the zone-blocking scheme 1000 times better than Dwyer.

by TexansDC on Mar 15, 2010 7:43 PM EDT reply actions

Dallas does not want Taylor Mays.

We do not draft Combine Warriors. We would either draft Maurkice Pouncey or Bruce Campbell in this scenario. The we would draft Morgan Burnett at 59. WR is not a need, it is a want that will be addresses later.

LOL!

This

We do not draft Combine Warriors

Wanted Campbell well before the Combine chief.

He is considered by most the 5th best OT available. He is value here Mays is not.

by Flounder69 on Mar 16, 2010 11:38 AM EDT up reply actions

well boss....

When you talk about workout warriors..Bruce Campbell is the definition of that.

OK pal?

Master of the squeegee

by FreeBradshaw on Mar 16, 2010 12:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Bruce Campbell is the definition of a workout warrior

Watch the tape of Bruce Campbell…..he is rated as the 5th OT in draft
1 – Okung
2 – Bulaga
3 – Williams
4 – Davis
5 – Campbell
6 – Brown

Watch Taylor Mays tape senior and junior year
Taylor Mays has too much upside. Dallas needs to upgrade the Safety position. He can rotate at LB as well. He is not a reach but a great pick at this spot.

If you don’t believe me……watch the tape.

by Pablo Escobar on Mar 16, 2010 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions

WTF

Give me Dez!!!!! for the Cowboys, are you insane, Dez has way to much value to be sitting there past us, and it would convince Jerruh to do the right thing, dump Roy

by nicholas.rodriguez on Mar 16, 2010 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions

If Jerry passed on Dez

I would be super pissed.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

by Cowboyfan729 on Mar 18, 2010 2:29 AM EDT up reply actions

Seriously

Taylor Mays is bad enough, but Taylor Mays while Dez is still available is fn insane.

to make the jump to the next level, Odrick said today he needs to work on one area. "Just being more violent overall,'' Odrick said. "Play the game and play it right, violently.''

by APerfectStar on Mar 20, 2010 1:36 AM EDT up reply actions

I think I may go insane if I see another mock with us taking Mays at 27

Dez vs. Mays

OK
So I understand the want for Bryant. I have changed my mock since.

However this is my argument. Bryant has not played football in a year. He has a lot of baggage. How do we know what he is capable?

Mays had one “ok” season. Go watch his tape. Mays has infinite potential and would upgrade Cowboys secondary….

Just a thought. I rather have the talent of Mays. He can help on special teams as well. Bryant could contribute to a poor locker room demeanor…..

by Pablo Escobar on Mar 21, 2010 4:11 PM EDT up reply actions

THANK YOU

Finally, someone true to the “no trades mock”

Because u r not showing trades, u therfore didnt pick Dez. If BMarsh is traded, then we will get a 1st.

And btw i love both picks. Not sure if Price translates well to the 3-4 but if he does it’d be great

by DBroncs1414 on Mar 15, 2010 8:53 PM EDT reply actions

If Dez Bryant is still available at that pick in the 1st

I would call the Rams and tell them myself to trade up a couple picks and get him. give them 2nd and something.

Some good picks

I like your tackle picks in the 2nd. Also like the Niners, after missing on Spiller, going after McCluster.

The description of Hughes for the Saints does not fit – they play a 4-3, not looking for a rush LB. And I agree with Hardesty and Gerhart to those teams, but in the 3rd round.

by ct17 on Mar 15, 2010 11:38 PM EDT reply actions

For the love of God

PLEASE STOP MOCKING SPILLER TO THE SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL DONATE MY LIFE SAVINGS IF WE TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM THAT CONFIDENT WE’RE NOT TAKING HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the Clausen pick, though.

haha

that was a funny rant

Your probably right, but CJ spiller is such an incredible skills player

But Carrol is a smart guy, he would not make a stupid decision on draft day

At 6 Seattle is taking either Clausen or Berry unless Okung or McCoy somehow falls to 6.

BUT NOT CJ SPILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think Dallas will pass on Dez Bryant if he falls.

And if they do, I would throw something through my TV.

by nicholas.rodriguez on Mar 16, 2010 9:13 PM EDT up reply actions

The Eagles will not take Montario Hardesty in the second round especially if Daryl Washington is still on the board.

by The Legend on Mar 16, 2010 2:47 AM EDT reply actions

Not the Browns, Bills, or Jags need a Franchise QB?

And the Seahawks are so sure of this that they pass on one to take a RB with the 6th pick. I can buy that Spiller is a #6 pick in your opinion. But if they are going to take a QB why wouldn’t they use their first pick on that position. Surely it is easier to find a RB than a QB.

You have selected a fine CB for the Vikes. Since the Vikes always draft BPA I really like Bruce Campbell or Brian Price here. But if McCourty is rated higher and you think he fits with the zone coverage scheme the Vikes use then I can accept it. Using the second pick on a safety is courageous. I happen to agree that Chad Jones is a fine player. The Vikings have a full contingent of safeties on the roster. It would be interesting to see if Chad can make the team.

Winning is not everything but it sure feels like it sometimes

QB

Will review the needs.

Browns traded for Delhomme and acquired Holmgren’s old padiwan

I am a Bills fan. I am from Western NY. Before snagging Clausen as their QB they have many other holes to fill. They fill in the most important hole – finding a franchise NT. Think about the best 3-4 defenses in the league and what defines their defensive front. They also can go OT here because there offensive line is a disaster. I think they should opt not to choose a QB and wait for next year’s very strong QB draft class.

The Jags have many concerns. First and foremost – save the franchise. While I believe Clausen could be picked – Garrard will do for now because there are other holes that need to be filled on the team. AFC South teams have one thing to ask themselves. How do we beat Manning? Earl Thomas can play CB or S. HE is a ballhawk. Creates turn overs and great mechanics. He is the best player at that pick.

First and foremost, is to win which’ll lead to saving the franchise. It’s debatable if he’s the best pick at 10. The way to beat Manning is to score more points than him because he’s going to score touchdowns. A better Qb would do that. Just my point.

But are you an avid Clausen believer?

And do you think that Tebow will inevitably come to the Jaguars?

by Pablo Escobar on Mar 16, 2010 5:23 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not avid, but I am realistic

I think Clausen is worth a top 10/15 pick. I also think he’s the 2nd best Qb.

I would certainly hope we get Tebow. But only if the value satisfies the reach. In other words, trade down and get more picks in which you can use one for him.

I'm good with these

Pouncey is atop my list of guys you have available at #31 for the Colts. Though Bruce Campbell would be tempting considering the need for OT (though I’m not super confident in him). Knowing that Saffold and Veldheer both went before our next pick, passing on Campbell might be a regret.

Though I like him, in the second Alualu’s a bit of a reach to me. If I were reaching I’d reach on Kyle Calloway here since I didn’t get a tackle in round one. The Colts need RT help too.

I don’t think Bruce Campbell is incredible……the tape speaks for itself
Pouncey is such a Colts guy. Work ethic, the skill, the type of player….

Combine

Still fresh in people’s minds. It’s the last thing people will see on him since he skipped the pro day. I think it’s smart too, considering he pretty much maxed out his value as a potential top 10 pick with his Combine. I think if you guys say he’ll go in the 2nd you’re overestimating a lot of GMs.

Yeah

Didn’t say he was incredible. But it’s such a huge need and the OT class is weird this year. It looks like there are five or six guys who could be franchise types and if you pass on them the pickins are slim unless you get lucky with Saffold turning into the real deal or Jason Fox being healthy (or you strike gold on a late rounder).

I agree totally on Pouncey. He’d fix a bunch of the Colts’ problems. In fact, if there were any possibility of them trading a few mid rounders to obtain another late first (or early second) and draft him and Brandon Graham I’d be ecstatic. I’d wait on LT for that outcome.

I'm Glad you agree

Some people would get angry I have Pierre Paul there. But Baltimore’s LB are the best BUT they are getting old. They get the highest upside LB, and let him learn from the best. Significant contributor in the future.

I would rather us use him at DE rather than OLB. We have so many OLB already. He needs to be playing DE. Could be the next Justin Tuck.

The Seahawks released the only safety they had in Deon Grant so now they are really in desperate need of a playmaker in the secondary

Why would you put Bulaga as a Pioli type player?

Becaus eMike Mayock said that. He doesnt even fit our system as good as Bruce Cambell. Just because Pioli Is connected with Kirk Ferentz doesnt mean he will take Bulaga. Mike Mayock said that and now he is mocked to the CHiefs. Please people be original. Show me one mock on here where someone had Bulaga going 5 before the combine. There is 4 or 5 now. We get it, you watched the combine. Mike Mayock has no inside info and the Chiefs havent even worked out Bulaga.

by darwithabar on Mar 21, 2010 12:06 AM EDT reply actions

Mike Mayock

I did not read what Mike Mayock said about Bulaga

My reasoning was such – Bulaga is mechanically sound and a high character player who can play right away. The Chiefs need to protect Cassel’s blind side. Bulaga looks great on tape.

However i have changed my mock – check back shortly

by Pablo Escobar on Mar 21, 2010 4:08 PM EDT up reply actions

To Be Honest

Im down with BRian Bulaga, I wouldnt be pissed off if the Chiefs took him over Bruce Cambell or Berry. However, not one person mocked him to the Chiefs until Mike Mayock said “Pioli might take him because of the connections between him and Ferentz.” It just makes me question some mock. I didnt mean to come off as a jerk and I think you should keep it the same. If you didnt even hear him say it, then Im just a jack ass (Which I freely admit most of the time). Sorry about that and you should keep it the same.
