ESPN will drown you in the Tebow
Florida's pro day was held today, you may have heard. Everyone wanted to see Tim Tebow's throwing motion. It may not have been the SERAPHIM'S BULLWHIP™, but it was at least improved.
Don't care? Me either. ESPN, though, is going to make you care. For the pro day, ESPN dispatched reporter Tom Rinaldi to the UF campus. The same Rinaldi who is typically used as a hushed-voice golf and aww-shucks reporter. Observe:
Prepare yourself if you regularly watch ESPN, because you're going to be seeing that video a lot. And, oh no, that's not enough.
On draft day, we'll get to see Tebow at Radio City Music Hall as he patiently awaits being selected. If he doesn't go in the first two rounds, what's the over/under on how many times Suzy Kolber or Erin Andrews interviews him? I'm going with four.
Anyone want to make a Tim Tebow NFL Draft drinking game?
This is all becoming too much. You must love the Tebow, for the Tebow loves you. It's sort of like those scenes in the seminal 1994 action/adventure classic Street Fighter, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. You know, the parts where Blanka is getting mind control? Yeah, just like that.
Note: Dear Tim Tebow fans,
I don't want Tim Tebow to fail. I don't like or dislike him. I am aware he was a successful college player. This has nothing to do with his religious beliefs.

Tim Tebow NFL Draft Drinking Game
Take a drink every time (take multiple if more than one of these happen at once)
1. They reference his ability to help the Jaguars sell tickets
2. His struggles at the Senior Bowl and/or his “new” throwing motion at Pro Day are mentioned
3. Someone brings up the Sugar Bowl as if it writes off everything else he did in college
4. Says “He wins” or “He’ll never give up”
5. A highlight reel of him is show (excluding “The Promise” see below)
6. Someone compares him to another scrambling QB as if it matters
7. Every shot of him in the green room
Finish your drink every time
8. They show video of “The Promise”
9. Todd McShay and Mel Kiper debate about him
10. Tebow says “I just want to thank Jesus Christ for…..”
Take a shot every time
11. Someone expresses disbelief the Jaguars passed on him
12. Someone acts as if teams are passing on him because of his religious beliefs

This is why they split the draft into 3 days. lol
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

Don't Hate The Player, Hate The Game!
It’s terrible to see the anger that should be limited to the media being stacked onto Tebow for this overexposure…
MileHighReport.com member since 02/06/07, promoted to "Position Coach" (i.e. new staff writer) on 02/16/10!
or just heaped onto ESPN for their idiotic bias, not just on this but on all issues…
I teach good life choices. That’s why I almost didn’t graduate High School.
If Minnesota drafts him and Favre returns, would they be breaking any NFL rules limiting the number of media darlings/pariahs at one position? Would ESPN just melt down?

You really dont strike me as the guy
who should talk about being biased. Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt it.

BTW
What if coaches have good things to say about Tebow? Are they Biased also…?
I dont think Tebow should be drafted in the 1st either, maybe not even in the second. Seems like ESPN usually says the same thing or worse. So not sure how that is being bias? If you are upset about the excessive coverage, blame yourself.

I'm going to tread lightly when saying this because I think this is an excellently run blog that I frequent daily
But why bitch and complain about the media exposure about Tebow, then have the article on the top of your mainpage? I hear daily about people sick of hearing about him yet they won’t stop talking about him. If you really want the constant fawning over him to go away, quit writing in public forums that you want it to go away.

I’m fairly certain whatever I write won’t affect what ESPN is going to do. But if that’s the case, these hands are filled with the power!
Mocking the Draft: Your NFL Draft source.
No you alone wont affect what ESPN does. But dont you get the point he is making? ESPN doesnt cover Tebow because they have a hard on for him. They cover him so much because people like you and everyone else will watch, then tell 6,000 people what they just saw and how tired they are of watching and hearing about it.

I believe this is more of an opinion of the overwhelmingly undeserving praise...
…of his throwing mechanics and potential. People tout him as a “winner”, using his college success as proof that he’ll “will himself” to do well in the NFL- the same people who don’t believe in Colt McCoy.

Colt McCoy is a poor mans Tebow
Everyone knows that.

Here's the problem with Tebow (for me)
There are simply to many other talented prospects in this draft (the deepest draft since 1983) according to the pundits. That Tebow is garnering so much attention because of what he did in college in just crazy. Tebow is not even the 10th best QB on joe blow’s board and yet ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL. Com. NFL Network and NFL Radio are spending countless hours talking up Tebow as if he’s some sort of can’t miss prospect. How about Jarret Brown the West Virginia QB a QB with a big arm or John Skelton a small school product with a big arm or Javon Snead another QB with NFL tools (to clarify I’m not saying the QB’s mentioned will be great NFL players but that they are better prospects than Tebow). I don’t think it’s fair to other prospects that will have an immediate impact at the next level (unlike Tebow who’s a project and a 4th or 5th round pick) and need some exposure. It’s apparent that one or two things are taking place with Tebow.
He’s either being used by the media or the media has singled him out as a favorite and want his story to a success story.
Enough already about Tebow. When he can throw a 20 yard out route on a rope with live bodies around him and with consistency then he will be worthy of all the attention he gets. Let me knows when he does that and then he’ll have my attention.
haha, uh watch some of his games first. I have seen him do that many times.
Dont get me wrong, his motion was super slow. But throwing the ball in a 20 yard out has not been one of his problems. Not sure where you read that though.

You people who complain about Tebow
And say they are so tired of ESPN or whatever network covering Tebow are the main reason they cover him so much. I mean seriously, do you think they cover Brett Favre and his retirement becuase they are gay for Brett Favre? HOW STUPID IS THAT? They cover certain people or topics over and over becuase people eat it up like f’n candy.
Look around SBNation football sites, as soon as Tebow gets mentioned every goober has to chime in with how Tebow wont make it.

Look Hook
I base my position about Tebow on what he did at Florida as A PASSER, at the SENIOR BOWL PRACTICES’ AND the SENIOR BOWL GAME. The guy could’t take a snap from center effectively and was terrible as a passer in the game. He then chose NOT to compete at the combine and instead was allow to get preferential and deferential treatment by the NFL Network with a “private” demonstration of his attempt to improve his throwing mechanics in front of the cameras with Mike Mayock and Steve Marriucci.
Hook I get that your a Tewbow fan, what I don’t understand is the blindness of so many to the fact that Tewbow lacks QB tools. You are in Florida. Dd you here Chad Henne of the Dolphins ? He doesn’t think Tebow’s an NFL QB either. Put your “pom poms” down Hook. It’s okay to want the guy to be a success, it’s another thing to be delusional about what he is as a prospect.
PS: I don’t watch ESPN anymore (they’ve lost their way) unless of course the Ravens are playing.
When did I ever say the guy was going to be a success in the NFL.
I hope he does well, but in all honesty I have always said all along, even during his Heismen season that Tebow has some problems at the QB position. I think he was so talented and combined with Urban Meyers offense he was able to over come the little issues to become one of the best players ever.
Will his talent alone be able to do that in the NFL? I dont know? Does that take away anything he has done in college? NO… So as a Gator fan I hope for players to do well in the NFL but in all honesty Emmitt Smith played for the Gators but was much better in the NFL…I would rather it be the other way around if it cant be both.
The problem I have is EVERYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT Tebow, and why he wont make it in the NFL, or why they are tired of hearing about him. Seems like the people who bring him up the most are the same ones who are complaining of Tebow fatigue. And then they wonder why ESPN show cases everything Tebow does….hmmm I wonder why.
We get it already, HE HAS PROBLEMS WITH HIS mechanics! I am so tired of everybody and thier mom telling me Tebow wont make it in the NFL. Ok great, I am glad you watched Todd McShay, but what does that have to do with what he did at Florida. If hes a bust, its not the end of the world.
"When you argue correctly, you're never wrong."-Nick Naylor
It's unfortunate...
…because he won’t (shouldn’t) get picked until the third round.

note
Dont complain about people talking about the guy too much with a front page post talking about the guy. Half the people complaining about being tired of Tebow are the ones talking about him most of the time.
its like Howard Stern, they complain about Tebow, but they are the first ones to comment on a Tebow article. I think the Tebow haters love him more than the Gator fans do. Its getting rediculous. I am ready to move on.
