Rams meet with Bradford leading up to pro day
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that Rams officials met with Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford in Florida this week.
Sources told the paper's Brian Burwell that general manager Billy Devaney and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur met Bradford where he's working out.
There has been speculation for some time that St. Louis will target Bradford with the first overall pick. He will hold a personal pro day on March 29. Don't be surprised if he has a private session set up with the Rams shortly thereafter.

Taking a QB is high risk,
but if anyone in the NFL needs a QB it’s the Rams. That’s a ton of money to pay a rookie that has about a 50-50 chance of being a good QB in this league. I doubt he will have the luxury of sitting and watching for a year. Throwing a rookie QB to the lions his first year is risky business. Some do well and some are doomed because of it.
Rams Need a Franchise QB but...
Is Sam Bradford the guy??? Cincinnati thought Akili Smith was and he wasn’t.. The Raiders thaought that Jamarcus Russell was… that obviously is not the case…
Sam Braqdford may be that Franchise QB that the Rams need.. The safe pick though would be to take Suh with #1 Overall and take a QB later in the Draft, or trade for someone that can be your Franchise QB like Kolb.

I don't think Philly would trade Kolb
unless some team offered a block buster deal for him.
Yes there are good ones too
but I would bet there are far more disappointments than there are success stories.

Then offer a block buster deal..
another option would be to trade for Jason Cambell and take a project to develop in the 3rd or 4th round.

Would you give the #1 overall in this draft?
I’m sure Philly would jump at that.
For Kolb Absolutely Hell Yes...
Hands down… absolutely YES!!!! If you trade for Kolb you can get a young QB who has started a few games in this league and who has sat behind and learned from Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid. He would probably be a bit cheaper than drafting a QB #1 Overall, and certainly a far better chance of paying off as an honest to goodness Franchise QB..
For Cambell I would not trade anything more than a 2nd this year and maybe a conditional pick next year.

A #1 overall is pretty steep price to pay
for a teams backup QB.
True it is
but you have to admit that Kolb has demonstrated that he can play in this league… Bradford has yet to do that… Kolb may be a risk, but drafting Bradford or any other QB is an even greater risk. Honestly I would bet you would have to give up more for Kolb than you would for McNab. which makes it very clear that the Eagles view him as something more than just a back up QB.

the Eagles made AJ Feeley look decent
I think Kolb just ebnefited from having a good supprting cast around him

Really???
A running game that can not get short yardage, an O Line with huge holes and a recieving corps with little or no experience…
Yes he was only in for 3 games 1 vs the Saints and the other 2 were against very poor teams, so there is not a whole lot to go off of… but it is still a hell of a lot more than what you have on Bradford or any other Rookie. Would it not make more sense to gamble less on someone who has at least had a few years learning under one of the best QB coaches in the league, than it would be to invest so much in someone who in reality has shown nothing.
