Lions remain confident trade proposal coming
For the Lions, there would be nothing wrong with taking either Ndamukong Suh or Gerald McCoy.
But the possibility of getting either of them wouldn't stop Lions head coach Jim Schwartz from trading the No. 2 pick in the draft. Schwartz's reasoning is that a team might want to move up and select a quarterback.
"I feel confident that we'll have an opportunity to move back," general manager Martin Mayhew told the media on Tuesday . "Will that be an opportunity that we want to take advantage of? Will it be a situation where we feel we're getting appropriate value? I couldn't answer that right now."
The only feasible scenario would be St. Louis taking Suh and a team like Cleveland or Buffalo wanting to get better positioning to take Sam Bradford.
It's somewhat far fetched, but still a possibility.
"It's going to be interesting to see the way it all shakes out," Schwartz told the media. "Quarterbacks make people move at the top of the draft, and I think that it'll be interesting to see when it's all said and done how much interest there is in those (quarterbacks) and where we go with that second pick."

The more I think, the more I don't wonder...
…if Al Davis doesn’t have a move in mind to jump up and grab Suh at #2, assuming St. Louis passes. Especially if this whole “Nnamdi to the Eagles for McNabb/Samuel” thing falls through. (assuming it’s even true in the first place)
He needs a dominating player in the middle of the D-line. He likes to make big, splashy moves. There is no way he wouldn’t love to have Suh in the silver and black.
If he’s serious about shopping Asomugha and he can’t get Philadelphia to bite, I can’t help but think he might give Mayhew a call on draft day and dangle Nnamdi in exchange for that pick.
Not saying I think it will happen…but I do think it might be something to keep your eyes peeled for.

Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. But then again this is the team that actually went 0-16, you can never beat that. Why the fuck would any club actually want their pick anyway?
- Rams take Suh
Now tell me why in the hell would you trade to #2 overall to get Bradford when you could just call Detroit bluff and trade into number 3.
IMO
Rams take Suh
Bucs tell Lions they want Bradford and swap picks and Bucs give Lions thier 3rd round pick. Then Bucs steal McCoy with no intentions of ever drafting a QB.

Haha
Or maybe the Lions are the Evil ones, pretending that they want McCoy with no intentions at all, but trick the Bucs into giving them thier 3rd round pick while still getting the player they wanted at #3 like Okung.
So many head games
