Mike Neal NFL Draft scouting report
Mike Neal
6'2 7/8, 298 pounds | Defensive tackle | Purdue
Strengths: Neal is one of the more athletic defensive tackles in this year's class. He's very strong but has enough quickness to get consistent penetration. Fires off the snap and looks the part of a three-technique tackle in a 4-3. Also has the agility to be an end in a 3-4.
Weaknesses: What's most questionable about Neal is his consistency. At times he looks uninterested and lacks effort. Appears to tire quickly. Struggles to get off blocks and doesn't seem to have the technical know-how to disengage. Has some durability issues.
Final word: Neal is arguably the most physically gifted defensive tackle in this year's class. He's really athletic and packed with strength. However, he's never fully reached his potential. His effort is inconsistent and technique leaves plenty to be desired.
