Vince Oghobaase NFL Draft scouting report
Vince Oghobaase
6'5 1/4, 303 pounds | Defensive tackle | Duke
Strengths: Oghobaase is an athletic and agile tackle who makes plays down the line. He has the kind of frame a strength coach will love. He's tall and lean with a lot of room to add mass. Has long arms and big hands that he uses to keep blockers off his frame. Shows good range to make plays away from his gap assignment. Solid short-area burst.
Weaknesses: There's no question that Oghobaase is a project player. His frame is as intriguing as it is incomplete. He's not especially strong and will get overpowered. Struggles to take on double teams. But what's more concerning about Oghobaase is his inconsistency. Whether it's his technique or motor, Oghobaase frequently seems to be playing a step slow. Injury history includes a season-ending knee injury in 2005 and a stress fracture in his foot in 2009.
Final word: Oghobaase is somewhat of an enigma. He has a projectable frame and solid enough athleticism. But he was never able to put it all together at Duke and become the dominant player people thought following a good sophomore season.
