Post Combine and FA Mock Draft for Steelers

Ok so yesterday was huge for Steeler Nation.  I am estatic about our 4 FA signings and I believe I speak for the nation.  We have signed playmakers without breaking the bank and we haven't even gotten to the draft yet! I have complied what I think our draft will look like after all this action has happened.  I believe we will draft BPA but then again I see a lot of players that could be in black and gold.  Need meets value here.

1st- Mike Iupati G Idaho-  Ok so I wasn't sold on this pick until yesterday.  I don't believe that Steelers have a terrible, piss poor line like everyone says, but it sure hasn't been the same since Faneca left a few years ago.  I think that we avoid Earl Thomas in rd. 1 and go with a sure pro bowler; unless Haden, Berry, or McClain somehow fall.

2nd- Morgan Burnett S Georgia Tech- Burnett is a true playmaker and would most likely be a first if the draft wasn't so deep.  I like his intangibles along with his smarts and size.  I see him learning under Clark and turning into a great Safety in a few years.  Steelers might also take a hard look at Brandon Spikes and Nate Allen at this pick.

3rd- Sean Lee ILB Penn State- A lot of people are high on ILBs  from TCU and Miami but I have to disagree.    I'd go with a solidified playmaker and somone who could learn from Farrior and eventually take the other ILB spot in the 3-4.

4th- Ben Tate RB Auburn-  Ben Tate would be a "steel" here.  He didn't exactly live up to his potential but he had a solid year this year and a great combine.  He could be the speedy complement to Mendenhall seeing is how he ran a 4.4 40.  He is also 220 lbs. and seems as more of a complete back than Parker was.

4th Comp. (for McFadden) Myron Lewis CB/FS Vandy- Lewis has good size and potential to be a NFL playmaker.  He could learn in the dime and you know how Tomlin likes versatility.

5th- Jay Ross NT East Carolina- I am from Soutthern Miss and in CUSA we had the misfortune of playing against Ross.  He is described as your typical mid round NT, but he has a good motor and decent size.  Could develop into a great backup; unsure as to if he has the ability to be a replacement for Hampton/Hoke.

6th- Colin Peek TE Alabama-  I see that Spaeth signed his tender, McHugh is unsure of his future, as with David Johnson, but I'd hate to pass up on Heath Miller Jr.  He is a great blocker, opposite of the huge Spaeth, and he is a great target.  Watched him in the Senior Bowl and he tore it up.  I want him as a Steeler.

6th Comp. (For Washington) Sean Canfield QB Oregon State-  He is used to playing at a higher level against tough competition.  He could develop into a great 3rd QB, maybe even a backup for the Corrupt Ben.  Had great workouts and I am high on his potential.

7th- Dexter Davis OLB Arizona St.- We need depth at OLB for the aging Harrison.  Under him and Woodley we really have no other playmakers besides the Undrafted Bailey.

All in all I am pumped about the draft.
