2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Pick 58

The second round of the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft rolls along. We're having each SB Nation blogger make selections for their respective teams. Andrew, lead blogger of SB Nation's Arizona Cardinals blog, Revenge of hte Birds, checks in to make the No. 58 overall selection in this year's mock. Take it away!

With the No. 58 overall pick in the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, the Arizona Cardinals have selected Sean Lee, MLB, Penn State

Andrew says:  The Cardinals shored up a need at defensive tackle in the first round with Cody, and with most of the top cornerbacks off the board, they'll take the second best inside linebacker in the draft. Lee is a proven leader and has the football intelligence to transfer his skills to the NFL. He's built up his frame and won't shy away from contact. He's a very good run defender, and has the speed to cover most tight ends or backs. He has the power to avoid most blocks and will harass opposing quarterbacks. He still needs to prove to scouts that he has the speed and strength to make it in the NFL. He missed a lot of time in 2008 from an ACL injury. Regardless, he's ready to take on the role as the Cardinals starting inside linebacker.

Mocking Dan reacts: This would be a tossup between Lee and Brandon Spikes of Florida. For me, it's the right position fill, but the wrong player. Everyone is concerned that Spikes ran slow at the combine. To those people, I say go watch some Florida games. Spikes made a lot of plays. He should be a little more natural as a 3-4 inside linebacker than Lee, but to each his own.

Mocking the Draft's Top 5 remaining prospects: 1 - Rob Gronkowski/TE/Arizona, 2 - Brandon Spikes/LB/Florida, 3 - Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida, 4 - Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois, 5 - Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford

Sound off, SB Nation! What say you of Arizona's selection of Lee? Please be sure to check out Revenge of the Birds for all of your Cardinals needs.

I'd prefer Spikes.

Nagging knee injuries bother me.

Good pick

Spikes will be a liability to any team. He earns the nickname “Sun Dial”.

Might as well go with a player who will not be. If Sean Lee’s leg injuries check out, he’ll go in the 2nd round.

Penetrating and Devastating!

Matter of preference

Personally, I would’ve gone with Spikes. But Lee’s not a bad pick himself.

Spikes!!!!

Before he ran a slow 40 he’s was a lock to go late 1st/early 2nd. If…. If he falls to the cards at #58 they should snatch him quick (unless they draft an ILB in the 1st round.) I could be wrong but Sean Lee doesn’t seem like a great value in the 2nd round.

Go Spikes.

Is it just me or does it look like Lee is 5?
