2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Pick 59

The second round of the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft rolls along. We're having each SB Nation blogger make selections for their respective teams. Rafael Vela, a blogger at SB Nation's Dallas Cowboys blog, Blogging the Boys, checks in to make the No. 59 overall selection in this year's mock. Take it away!

With the No. 59 overall pick in the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, the Dallas Cowboys have selected Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois

Rafael says:  Cowboys fans who play fantasy ball have coveted Anquan Boldin for years and here, at pick 59, the Cowboys land the receiver in this year's rookie crop most often compared to Boldin.

Arrelious Benn fits the Cowboys' WR profile to a T.  He's 6'2", 220 lbs. and has run sub-4.5 40s lately. He's a ferocious blocker, and he's very tough to tackle when he has the ball in his hands.  He has an all around game.   Benn doesn't display overwhelming deep speed, but his route running and elusiveness make him an economical version of Roy Williams, and in time, perhaps a superior version.  He's a steal this deep in the 2nd round.

Mocking Dan reacts: This is a very good choice, for several reasons. 1) It would end Dallas' long-suffering relationship with Roy Williams. 2) It would give the team a playmaker opposite Miles Austin and open the middle of the field even more for Jason Witten. 3) He wouldn't be as expensive as Boldin.

Make no mistake, Benn has a chance to be a stud receiver. He only wasn't in 2009 because Juice Williams continued to act like a quarterback at Illinois. Also, props to Rafael for spelling Arrelious correctly. Do it with me folks: A-R-R-E-L-I-O-U-S. Yay! You spelled Arrelious!

Mocking the Draft's Top 5 remaining prospects: 1 - Rob Gronkowski/TE/Arizona, 2 - Brandon Spikes/LB/Florida, 3 - Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida, 4 - Toby Gerhart/RB/Stanford, 5 - Brandon LaFell/WR/LSU

Sound off, SB Nation! What say you of Dallas' selection of Benn? Please be sure to check out Revenge of the Birds for all of your Cowboys needs.

Yay

A combination of need and value. This blows Dave’s first round pick out of the water.

A pick

Great pick. For some reason some Cowboys fan think that Kevin Ogletree should be starting. Guy did nothing last year. Cowboys need a wr and Benn is a good choice.

I wouldn't say he did nothing

He didn’t play much. When the ball was thrown his way, Ogletree was effective. Interesting guy to keep an eye on.

Maybe but

He still shouldnt be counted on and the Cowboys should defintely draft a WR.

No doubt

There’s a lot of uncertainty in that core of receivers.

Good pick Raf.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
