Ravens' personnel man decries running back class
Speaking to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Ravens director of player personnel Eric DeCosta called this year's running back class "beat up."
"There are about five running backs that are first three-round guys that have failed physicals," DeCosta said. "It's a concern, and I think a lot of these guys are going to fall."
Perhaps the most beaten up running back going into this year's draft is Jahvid Best of California. He had concussions in back-to-back games in 2009, and operations performed on his elbow and foot.
One scout talking to McGinn said Best is worried about the concussions.
"Plus, he has a muscle going down from his neck to his leg that bothers him," the scout said. "That's my reservation on Best. He's coming in all beat up."
Best is one of 16 players currently scheduled to attend the draft. Some think of the 16, he'll be waiting to hear his name the longest.
McGinn had a ton more information in his article from scout sources, but I didn't want to poach the whole thing. So make sure to read it and get a few more tidbits on this year's top running backs.
