What channel will you watch the NFL Draft on?
This is perhaps the most important question of the draft season: What channel will you have on for the NFL Draft?
In one corner, you have the long-raining champion of NFL Draft coverage, ESPN. It's Chris Berman, Mel Kiper Jr., Chris Mortensen, Tom Jackson, Steve Young, Adam Schefter, Todd McShay and a truckload of others.
In the other corner, you have the upstart, NFL Network. They feature Rich Eisen, Mike Mayock, Michael Lombardi, Michael Irvin, Warren Sapp, Jason LaCanfora, Jamie Dukes and some other people who don't leave enough of an impression on me to remember their names immediately.
Or will you just flip back and forth between the two? Since this is the first year I've had NFL Network, that is what I'll be doing. It depends who annoys me more, Berman or Dukes.

Little of both
I like Mayock though, so primarily NFL network.

I don't have either channel because I don't have cable :(
So I’m going to watch it on NFL.com. Granted, that is if they are still courteous enough to broadcast it here, lest I have to find some crappy stream.

where i'll be for round 1
makes me watch it on NFL.com – but when I get home my basic cable makes it BSPN
Your Mama!
Wish I could watch it on NFLN
Alas, I’ve got basic cable. ESPN for me.

NFLN
Until Deon Sanders gets on my nerves which usually doesn’t take long.
I'm not drunk I'm just drinking.
He's tha main reason I voted for ESPN
It’s a wash until you include Dieon. He annoys me on so many levels.
agreed
They are who we thought they were!

NFL Network only
Mayock is by far the most knowledgeable “draft guru” in the game. Kiper isn’t as bad as he used to be, but that McShay is an idiot. He presents well but he’s full of crap. While I’m a big ‘Boomer’ Berman fan, NFL Network just flat out provides better insight.

First time I've had NFLN during the draft
So I’ll start out there as I’ve gotten pretty jaded with ESPN

I am still pissed it is on a week day.
This will be the first time in a decade I will not throw a big draft day party. Kind of hard for friends to come into town on a Thursday! Greedy ass Goodell.
NFL Network
All day, everyday. I’m just not a BSPN kind of guy. I do want to hear to what McShay has to say but enough to turn on BSPN.
mostly ESPN
anytime McShay comes on I’ll switch to NFL network. anytime Jamie Dukes, Michael Irvin, or Warren Sapp come one I’ll switch to ESPN. If either Rich Eisen or Chris Berman start taking time to tell me what they think I’ll start flipping too, just cause they need to just pass it to an analyst, their not insight guys. Probably 65% ESPN:35% NFL network.
Depends on what AFN is showing
In all likelihood, it’ll be ESPN
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.
NFLN
First, I’l crank up the DVR because both networks have a ton of commercials. And the worst part of the commercials is that the two networks naturally go to commercial at the same time-midway between picks. I’ll probably start watching an hour into the draft each day, slowly catch up to real-time, then start flipping back and forth.
But overall, it’s the NFLN. I’ve watched it for a few years now and though they have some awful people like Dukes, EVERYONE on their show defers to Mayock and he is able to deliver clear analysis. (Also Jim Mora is good.) That doesn’t happen on ESPN because, while they have some insight, it’s not recognized as such and everyone has to get a certain percentage of airtime. Bleh.
NFLN
The primary reason I now favor NFLN is that every Sunday night in football season when I go looking for football highlights, I find that half of SportsCenter is devoted to NBA highlights. As if the two sports have similar-sized fanbases and anyone cares about game 10 of the NBA season. Some NFL games are not even covered anymore.
I will watch both networks if I can. I like Mayock, but it’s also fun watching Kiper, and I really respect Tom Jackson, who does a very good job.
