Tim Tebow may not attend the draft, but 17 others will

In the end, Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has decided to not attend the NFL Draft, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Instead, Tebow will be at his home in Jacksonville with his family.

You know what? Good.

This isn't a knock against Tebow, but he would dominate the draft coverage. Even though there will probably be a camera in his house, we may not have Tebow dominate the draft storyline as much.

But even without Tebow, 17 prospects will be at Radio City Music Hall. They are:

- Tennessee safety Eric Berry
- California running back Jahvid Best
- Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford
- Iowa offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga
- Wake Forest cornerback Brandon Ghee
- Florida cornerback Joe Haden
- Texas defensive tackle Lamarr Houston
- Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy
- Georgia Tech defensive end Derrick Morgan
- Penn State defensive tackle Jared Odrick
- Oklahoma State offensive tackle Russell Okung
- Clemson running back C.J. Spiller
- Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh
- Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas
- Tennessee defensive tackle Dan Williams
- Oklahoma offensive tackle Trent Williams

There's a few guys there

That aren’t locks to be drafted on Thursday- Ghee, Houston, D. Thomas, Odrick…even Jahvid Best is not a lock. So why invite them? Won’t that be kinda embarrassing to sit there all evening and not get drafted?

There aren't any cameras in the green room anymore

So it won’t be as bad. No more awkward shots with the player pretending to be on his cell phone.

Embarrasment=drama

Can’t say I didn’t enjoy a little shadenfreude with Brady Quinn’s slide, especially when they ushered him out of the stage/room full of empty tables. But I doubt Brandon Ghee isn’t so cocky as to expects to go in the first round, so I doubt embarrassment will ensue. I’m excited for another year of highly drafted Deacs!

-free food.

-atmosphere. You only get to be drafted once. How’s about those for reasons?

You’d be a stuttering fool to not go unless you got something big planned with the fam and/or friends.

Most of these guys have a general clue where they’re going, 2-3rd round at the latest. I could care less if I’m a 5th round pick. I go for the experience.

I'm pretty sure that Best, Houston, Odrick and Ghee will need to keep their hotel rooms booked thursday

and Ghee may even want to make sure he’s there for an overnighter on Friday.

"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

Odrick is probably going in the first.

as a Tebow fan, but also a Tebow skeptic

This is a good move.

Tebow’s biggest focus has to be on acquiring the skills to be successful in the NFL. His fans, detractors, and the media types are all distracting him from this.

Tebow is really a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I don’t think he has a good chance of being successful in the NFL, but I won’t say “never” either.

Watching the draft from home with family and friends takes the pressure off and lets him just focus on what matters: his game.

Yeah, that's why Tebag will have a NFL Network camera crew at his home

So he can focus on his family AND HIS game. Tebag is a walking contradiction. He’s a 4th pick round pick at best. Mike Lombardi of NFP disagrees with both of us though. He thinks Tebag’s a 1st round pick and has been saying it to anyone willing to listen or read it. Lombardi sounds like he might be Tebag’s agent championing his cause.

Ghee will go higher than expected.

He’s got great size, speed, and athleticism. The only thing he really lacks is ball skills, but he’s not playing WR. Pittsburgh will take him in the second or third round, he reminds them of Ike Taylor.

Jake Delhomme, QB Carolina Panthers, 2003-2009.

120 TDs+16000+ passing yards=Good

89 INT's+27 lost fumbles=Bad

Most comeback wins since 2003=Priceless
