2010 NFL Draft: Rams select Sam Bradford #1 overall, Detroit Lions on clock- Open Thread
Just as we suspected, Sam Bradford went first overall to the Rams. From Rams blogger Ryan Van Bibber:
Despite an endless loop of trade talk over the past week, the Rams selection of Bradford should come as a surprise to no one. The engineers who build dynasties know the universal need for a quarterback. That holds even more weight today as the league's paradigm shift puts more and more emphasis on an offense's ability to move the ball through the air. There was no bigger need for the Rams, a team with lots of needs yet to fill.
Now it's Detroit's turn to make the obvious pick. That would be Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Arguably the best player in the draft, analysts are already considering him the most-surething among this year's prospects.
If he's not the pick, it could be Oklahoma State Russell Okung. The Lions may have Jeff Backus on the left side of their line, but it's widely known that they've shown a lot of interest in Okung.
