Rock out with your mock draft out: Andrew Perloff
The interest in doing a mock draft at all is odd to me. Matt Stairs laughs at the average number of right picks in mock drafts.
So to do one with the 2011 NFL Draft 350 or so days away, making a mock draft blows my mind. Two of you are sick enough in the head to do one. And for that, I admire your gumption.
Some "name" folks are also putting out 2011 mocks already. One of them is Andrew Perloff of SI.com and the Dan Patrick Show. He is also known to you as "McLovin."
So, here is McLovin's top five. Find the rest here.
1. Seattle Seahawks - Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - D'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson
3. St. Louis Rams - Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina
4. Detroit Lions - Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
5. New England Patriots (via Oakland) - A.J. Green, WR, Georgia
I'm really not going to get into who he has going where. That's asinine this time of year. Although, it will be interesting to see how people judge Mallett leading up to the draft. There have been questions about his maturity when it came to whether or not he'd enter the 2010 draft and he has a public intoxication charge on his record.
If you care, Perloff has New Orleans beating Baltimore to win the Super Bowl.

Damn...to I have to disagree with the Giants pick already :)
Rodney Hudson is a fine player. But Chris Snee is still under 30 and a perennial All-Pro. He ain’t going anywhere, unless of course…well..I don’t even wanna say it.
And they just drafted Mitch Petrus, who while a 5th rounder…I dunno how the hell he fell that far.
The OL I don’t mind at all seeing picked..but unless its an OT or a OC, it doesn’t make much sense.
I’d rather see Greg Romeus there :)
Romeus? Really?

he was a top 5 recruit (I think the #1 overall actually..)
and he really came on along the end of last year even if the sack numbers don’t say it.
If he doesn’t shoot himself in the foot like Carlos Dunlap or do whatever the hell Everson Griffen did (also 2 top 5 recruits) did to drop him to the 4th round, Bowers will go that high.
I remember around this time last year that Dunlap was a top 5 pick himself

I have a feeling hes going to have a Dunlap like fall
Because Im sorry those stats just dont back up where he is projected to go.
If the Seahawks end up at the number 1 pick
and don’t draft Montlake Jake (assuming he has a good year), I think cars may be set on fire.
Granted – I have a hard time believing the Seahawks would have that bad of a season.
Broncos.
Interesting to see a CB going to Denver, but I kind of like the idea…

Walter Football has had a 2011 mock draft for some time now....running alongside their 2010 stuff....
It’s a bit sickening really.
It’s also kinda interesting to see Rahim Morris so linked to Houston already. I think that makes 5 for 5 on 2011 mocks I’ve seen.

It’s a bit sickening really.

Clausen has been drafted
it will get better.
Unless you hate Locker.
Good bye #43. Good luck in Chicago.

Its not just the clausen loving
theres also a bunch of dumb crap on the site like the Todd McShay and Emmitt Smith bashing.
McShay bashing is awesome. And Emmitt smith deserves it, he is stupid now.

Yeah I'm not a fan of all the satire on that site
Especially how he criticizes other teams and management. But the dude does watch a lot of football and generally knows what he is talking about when it comes to players.

Got to the Bills pick and Xed out
Blaine Gabbert had an ok first year starting for Mizzu but Locker wasn’t taken yet. I very shocked Bowers went 2nd overall ahead of Robert Quinn, and i would have switched in Allen Bailey with either Bowers or the OSU DE.
I like Quinn better than Bowers
and I like Bowers alot. Russ Lande put out his mock and had Bowers going #1 overall. I like him just not that much………YET
McShay, Todd McShay you hear me boy? It's me TJ and I'm coming for your damn job boy! Oh be scared, be very scared McShay.
Enough already
unless something happens throughout the course of this season. The Chiefs are not going to draft a Tackle, I think we proved that when we didn’t take Okung.

Not sure how to say this without sounding like a prick
but I said unless something happens during the season. Furthermore, these mocks are based upon perceived team needs at this instant, in which case, the Chiefs are not looking to draft a first round LT. Just like they haven’t been looking to draft a top LT for the past two years, when nearly every “expert” unanimously thinks that we need to "shore up the offensive line with a top tackle and move Albert to his “natural guard position”. It gets irritating that I can’t even look at a mock draft because it is almost always tackle, like Bulaga at 5, really??

Dont worry you didnt sound like a prick
I know how you Chiefs fans are about your team drafting a tackle high.
Ryan Mallett to the Seahawks?
How well can Mallett move out of the pocket? I know that’s an important aspect of what the Hawks are looking for in their QB of the future. They want to run a lot of bootlegs in Bates’ new offense, or at least that’s what they said when they brought in Whitehurst. I don’t know much about Mallett, other than that he’s a giant with a rocket arm, but I would expect them to go after a qb that can run (like Locker, but doesn’t have to be Locker).
Patrick Peterson to the Steelers?
Sign me up!
